They finished 20-5 overall in 2022 and return one of the nation’s top senior prospects. However, this team has been winning without her services, opening the season 5-0 relying on a solid collective team effort to generate their early-season success. Here are some of the key contributors.

Our top-ranked prospect in the 2024 class and one of the nation’s most coveted recruits, Rothe saw her first action of the season on Tuesday as she opened up her senior campaign with a team high 14 kills on a .545 efficiency. Rothe is the top prospect for a reason and its good to see her on the court with her team as she brings a presence that can ignite her team when considering her physicality and her competitiveness. The Florida commit has over 1,000 kills for her career with a 4.1 k/s average to date. She has also earned 2.8 b/m average over that span as well.

The junior had consecutive seasons dishing over 700 total assists, including 750 during her freshman season. She is currently at 1,580 assists for her career just six matches into her junior season. Defensively, she is currently contributing a career best 8.3 d/m. Zechman has a complete skill set as this season she has seen time as an attacker on both pins demonstrating her ability to get up and take big swings. She has earned 30 kills over the first six matches of the season for a 1.8 k/s average.

The junior pin attacker has been the best offensive option for the Irish in the absence of Rothe. She is leading the team with a 3.5 k/s average when considering the full scope of their schedule and the volume of work she has seen. Winbush has earned double-digit kills in half of their matches most recently terminating 12 and 11 kills in the two previous contests. She also adds 3.0 d/s. She uses a high elbow swing to increase her contact point in the air that can challenge hands at the net well.
Riley Winbush – OH
The sophomore Winbush is second on the team in total kills so far this season with 36 for a 2.1 k/s average. With 155 total kills during her freshman season, she has picked up right where she left off last fall but with increased effectiveness as she is swinging at a career best efficiency of .296. At 5’10, she has a nice fundamental arm that helps her create good pace when on time. Her activity on the right pin is proving to be a key asset given her ability to score through varied tempos behind the setter.

White is a 6’0 senior middle that helps create good balance in this team’s effort on both sides of the ball. She has good length in the air when attacking through quick options around the setter and can do enough with her contact to move the ball around and make it difficult for the defense to defend. This has led to the best start to a season in her three varsity seasons. White is averaging nearly two kills per set on a .352 efficiency while upping her production on the defensive side for a 2.0 b/m average.
