Tuesday night Atascocita had a great showing in their home gym. The last few years Klein has walked home with a win but this year Atascocita came away with it in 3 sets.

Freshman outside [player_tooltip player_id='534384' first='Jordan' last='Morrow'] was one of the most dependable hitters on both sides of the net all night long. She has huge potential to be a 6 rotation threat even as a freshman. Jordan has really grown into that star player every coach is looking for, and hopefully we will see her become even more dominant as the season goes on. Not only was she solid in her skills, she displayed confidence and took aggressive swings and risky shots to win the point.

Top Performer: Faith Williams, Klein

Senior middle Faith Williams was a great match up against Atascocita's two dominant middles, and it was fun to watch her go to work, finding creative ways to score. Her setters definitely gave her plenty of opportunities and she did score quite often when she got set. Faith was also dominant at the net on defense and notched several blocks in the stat column.

In the 3rd set setter [player_tooltip player_id='254153' first='Gracie' last='Williams'] went on a serving run and had a total of 6 aces over 19 serving attempts and 0 errors. This is the first year on varsity for the sophomore setter and she seems to be finding her grove with her smooth finish. Her ability to score points for her team from the serving line is invaluable. The key to her success seemed to be her consistent contact point and pace of her serve, which made it very difficult to track and pass.

Game Recap:

Klein struggled throughout the 3 sets to get a rhythm going. They are with out starting middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='474138' first='Asha' last='King'], who will make a huge difference when she returns. Freshman Allie Lindsey tried her best in the middle to fill in and did come away with 2 blocks and lead the team in hitting percentage and kills with 7. Both teams struggled passing but Atascocita was solid in the 3rd set, pulling away early with [player_tooltip player_id='254153' first='Gracie' last='Williams']' serving and Rheanna Deen-Jacksons presence at the net. Klein did have a bright spot with senior setter Kinsley Smith, who was doing a little bit of everything, passing, hitting and setting.
