It’s been a hot minute since we’ve had a commitment radar report for the kids out of Michigan.
The 2023s are off and well into their rookie seasons with their collegiate programs. Meanwhile, this summer saw the 2024s begin to dwindle in size of what was left of the uncommitted. For the 2025s, the floodgates have opened! Some of the top names in the junior class have been scooped up by some big time programs. I am sure there will be more major announcements from that class within the remainder of high school season.
Without further ado, let’s catch you up on all the big commitments coming out of Michigan since we last updated!
Be sure to click on the links to see the official announcements below
Devin Dzienny Devin Dzienny 5'8" | DS/L St. Ursula | 2025 State #75 Nation OH (OH) to Florida
5’8 L – St. Ursula/Legacy
While, technically, Devin Dzienny Devin Dzienny 5'8" | DS/L St. Ursula | 2025 State #75 Nation OH is an Ohio kid. Right next to the border at St. Ursula Academy in Toledo, Dzienny spends a bulk of her volleyball days spent in Michigan. Not only has Dzienny been a part of Legacy for years now, but with the inclusion of the handful of Toledo programs into the Catholic League, Dzienny is an honorary Michigan athlete.
She’s off to one of the top programs in all of college volleyball and she’s been touted as one of the defensive players in this class for quite sometime. An elite performer in all aspects. A national championship under her belt, a consistent member of the USA NTDP and accolades aplenty, Dzienny will surely make sound impact once she arrives to the swamp. Mary Wise will have two consecutive classes with stud defensive players with OTVA’s Isabella Lee Isabella Lee 5'5" | DS/L Plant | 2024 State FL coming to Gainesville this fall. The defensive duo of Lee and Dzienny might be one too mighty for the NCAA to handle.
Shelby Ignash Shelby Ignash 6'1" | MB Cass City | 2025 State #124 Nation MI to Texas Tech
6’2 MB – Cass City/Michigan Elite
In her first club season ever, Shelby Ignash Shelby Ignash 6'1" | MB Cass City | 2025 State #124 Nation MI has made herself quite the impressive reputation amongst the volleyball world. One of the most exciting players to watch, many can’t get enough of this one-footed slide bandit for Michigan Elite. With her big, fire-red hair, her play comes just as big, if not bigger, and just as fiery. With all eyes on this Michigan Elite squad that went all the way to the 16 Open championship at AAU’s, Ignash had a big part in this epic run. She’ll look to do similar damage on an up-and-coming Texas Tech squad.
All Ignash knows is how to win. With an incredible club season, Ignash is also a multi-sport athlete. For Cass City, she played vital roles in a Final Four, a Regional Semi-Final and an Elite 8 appearance in volleyball, basketball and softball, respectively. Alongside current star middle Kate Hansen Kate Hansen 6'3" | MB Weatherford | 2023 State #67 Nation TX , the Red Raiders will surely be a team to watch in the coming years.
Campbell Flynn Campbell Flynn 6'2" | S Mercy | 2025 State #4 Nation MI to Nebraska
6’2 S – Mercy/Legacy
Call it the Michigan Difference down in Lincoln, Nebraska. Following the commitment of superstar, Harper Murray Harper Murray 6'2" | OH Skyline | 2023 State #2 Nation MI , that the next top prospect out of Michigan would follow suite to one of the most elite volleyball programs in the country. In a decision between the reigning National Champions in Texas and 5-time winner Nebraska, Campbell Flynn Campbell Flynn 6'2" | S Mercy | 2025 State #4 Nation MI couldn’t go wrong with either choice. As one of the top setters in the country, Flynn has a dominance to her play that you just don’t see much from this position. She plays the game with great speed and a lot of offense with her wicked south paw on two. She’s recently returned home from working with the USAYNT, where she not only won the U19 World Championships, but led the U21 group to a top 5 finish in Europe.
Trista Ameel Trista Ameel 5'10" | DS/L Romeo | 2024 State MI to Saginaw Valley
5’9 L – Romeo/Michigan Elite
Saginaw Valley has been having a bit a down period these last few years. After an incredible 2017 class that took SVSU to great heights, including finishing within the top of the GLIAC and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2019, the Cardinals may be getting back on track with this commit. Trista Ameel Trista Ameel 5'10" | DS/L Romeo | 2024 State MI , a libero out of Romeo HS, has been arguably one of the breakout stars of the 2023 year. After an incredible year with Michigan Elite, 17 Elite, Ameel manned the backcourt and led this team to a USAV Nationals bid. With her scrappiness and explosive nature in the back court, I have a strong feeling, we may see the Cardinals rising back to the top.
Abby Mainka Abby Mainka 5'11" | OH Brighton | 2024 State MI to Cedarville
5’11 OH – Brighton/L2
Another Division II program on the rise, Cedarville University is looking to another powerhouse pin in the 2024 class to bring some heat to the Yellowjackets. Alongside fellow 2024, Allison Pilat Allison Pilat 6'2" | OH Plymouth Christian | 2024 State MI , the duo make up for a deadly one-two punch on the left side coming in next fall. Abby Mainka Abby Mainka 5'11" | OH Brighton | 2024 State MI is having herself an incredible 2023. She currently leads a lethal Brighton squad, currently ranked No. 5, in Division 1.
