The 6’0 pin has elevated her high performance offense from a season ago when she averaged over six kills per set. With 425 kills so far in 2023, she has increased her numbers to 7.1 k/s as Toronto is a perfect 17-0 on the season with just a few matches left before their postseason focus shift. With over 1,500 career kills, the UMBC commit has put up some impressive single-match numbers including 40 kills in a 3-2 victory over Wellsville earlier this month. What is most impressive is that she is hitting at a .487 efficiency and 54% kill rate, with a four-year career efficiency of .401. Defensively, she is just ahead of her career average for digs per match at 16.3.

With terrific range of skills, Grissett is having one of her most productive varsity seasons for Alexander. At 5’10, she uses her physical tools well in the air to blast 5.3 k/s, a team high effort as well as a career best output. She has great tools to set and distribute the offense as well as she adds a few assists per frame. In consecutive matches earlier this week she produced 49 total kills for a 7.0 k/s average over those two contests as Alexander went 1-1 to improve to 10-7 overall. The Ohio University commit also contributes over 10 digs per match.

One of the best two-way players in the Ohio 2024 class, Dewese is putting up career best numbers offensively. She leads Lake’s offense at 4.2 k/s while showing college ready composure and skill execution. She is adding more on the defensive side in 2023 with increased numbers at 11 d/m. Her role also includes handling some of the offense through her hands through which she contributes over four assists per set. For her varsity career, she is closing in on the 900 mark for both total kills and digs. Dewese, a Vanderbilt commit, had her best offensive output in their most recent match as she earned 27 kills in Lake’s 3-1 loss to Eastwood.

For the first time in her four-year varsity career Poppe is earning over five kills per set. She recently surpassed 1,200 kills for her career as she is outperforming previous season efforts in efficiency (.372) and kill percentage (46%). She has also increased her defensive contributions as she is earning a career best 11 digs per contest. Poppe had a monster match in their most recent 3-2 non-league win over Southeastern Local. She had a 30-30 effort with 33 kills and 31 digs while also hitting at a .382 efficiency, which is impressive given the volume of work she endured through the match. WLSHS is 13-2 overall.

– Shenandoah
The 5’6 outside hitter is having her best season of her four-year career as her offensive output has increased steadily year over year. At 4.8 k/s, she is quickly approaching 1,200 career kills with the likelihood that arrives in the next couple of matches. She is an athletic attacker with quality elevation and timing that help her take big swings for power and pace. She has earned double-figure kills in every match this season as the Zeps are perfect at 18-0 having dropped only set all season, which came back in their opening match. Leach’s best effort in 2023 was 22 kills in their season opening 3-1 win over Union Local.
