Gabriella Babinski Gabriella Babinski 6'1" | RS South Lyon East | 2025 State MI , Jr. OH South Lyon East
The Cougars made a big splash this weekend with an impressive set of wins in the power series, topping Mercy, Howell, Lake Orion and Orchard Lake St. Mary’s. During the four-game stretch Babinski was nearly unstoppable. She had 50 kills over the four matches, including 14 against Mercy and 14 against Lake Orion. Her performance helps East get back on track to being a contender in Division 1.
Caroline Baker Caroline Baker 5'9" | S Byron Center | 2024 State MI , Sr. S Byron Center
Byron Center earned its biggest win of the season thus far last week when it swept Forest Hills Northern in a league matchup. The Bulldogs showed a lot of closing ability and that was thanks to Baker, who really has control of the Byron Center offense. Baker spread the ball out nicely and kept the Huskies guessing throughout the match. She also produced some timely aces and was the on-court general for a rising Byron Center squad.
Alison Bisballe, Sr. MH Lake City
D3 Lake City had an impressive week as it took on a number of bigger programs and racked up wins last week. That included victories over the likes of Mt. Pleasant, Midland and Montague. Mix in wins over Beal City and Shelby, and it was a pretty good week. All season long, the 6’2” Bisballe has been a dominant force at the net. She’s finishing at a high rate and racking up blocks to help her defense. The multi-sport talent is definitely going to shake up Division 3.
Gabby DiVita Gabby DiVita 6'1" | OH Grosse Pt. South | 2026 State MI , So. OH Grosse Pointe South
GP South had arguably its best week of the season last week, earning four wins. The Blue Devils started the season with a lot of challenging opponents, but has settled in now behind the play of DiVita. The sophomore standout is one of the state leaders in kills (263) and hitting (.423). Last week she put up 49 kills over 10 sets in four victories. She also had 27 digs and six aces.
Victoria Gray Victoria Gray 6'2" | MB Bedford | 2025 State #100 Nation MI , Jr. MH Bedford
Last week was important for Bedford. After racking up a lot of wins over smaller programs, the Kicking Mules went up against Saline last week and came through with a three-set sweep. In the win, the junior middle had 13 kills while hitting .522. She also added four blocks to help lead the defensive effort. Now on the year, Gray has 196 kills while hitting .445. She also has 68 blocks on the season.
Saige Martin Saige Martin 6'0" | MB Pewamo Westphalia | 2024 State MI , Sr. MH Pewamo-Westphalia
The defending D3 state champs continuing piling up the wins. Last week included a win over the 2022 D4 champs, Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart. In need of some step-up hitters this fall, Martin has shouldered a big load of the offense at the net. Last week saw Martin put up 12 kills against Northern Michigan Christian, 11 against Durand and 11 against Saranac. She also had 11 kills the week prior in a big win over Plymouth Christian.
Aliza Munro, Sr. L Three Rivers
The Wildcats had a busy schedule last week, playing in 10 matches, going 8-1-1 over the stretch. Munro, the senior libero, had a lot of work to do, but never took a step back in her effort. Munro recorded 117 digs over the stretch, going over 1,000 for her career in the process. On the season, Munro now has 252 digs with 14 aces.
Jasmine Reemsnyder Jasmine Reemsnyder 5'8" | DS/L Mason | 2024 State MI , Sr. OH Mason
Reemsnyder is a solid all-around player that can excel offensively or defensively. Last week, Reemsnyder guided the Bulldogs to a pair of big wins in the Lansing area, as Mason topped Williamston and Haslett. Reemsnyder was the offensive catalyst in both matches and came through with the game-winning kill in a four-set win over Haslett. The senior is steadily putting up double-digit kills in matches and leading Mason to an impressive win streak.
Isabelle Swiercz Isabelle Swiercz 6'2" | OH Hudsonville | 2024 State #110 Nation MI , Sr. OH Hudsonville
The Miss Volleyball finalist has already played in a lot of big matches, but helped lead Hudsonville to a sweep of Grand Haven last week. In the win, Swiercz hit .429 and tallied 16 kills and 11 digs. Hudsonville followed that win with four more on the weekend, including a two-set sweep of Forest Hills Northern. In that win, Swiercz hit .556 with 12 kills. On the year, she now has 200 kills with 161 digs.
Avery Woodard Avery Woodard 5'7" | S Marysville | 2024 State MI , Sr. S Marysville
Marysville came through with a big MAC red win last week by topping Dakota in four sets. Woodard was on her game in the big win, setting the offense to hitting .264 as a team. She tallied 35 assists in the win but also had 12 digs, three kills, three aces and two blocks. Woodard is now up to 330 assists through 33 sets, averaging 10 per set. She’s also got 124 digs and 31 kills.
