The 5'11 junior delivered 36 kills in the win on a .519 efficiency. This season high output followed the 24 kills she earned the night before in a 3-0 loss to Hawken. With 407 total kills on the season, Miner is averaging 5.9 k/s through a .598 efficiency. The Pirates were 4-1 over their last two weeks of competition. Through that stretch, Miner terminated 117 kills for a 6.9 k/s average. She is closing in on 1,000 career kills and the relentless pressure she puts on opposing defenses at the left pin should get her to that mark soon. She is terminating at a career best 72%. She is putting up her best offensive numbers in her final season as she is scoring from all over the floor. Mayfield defeated Riverside 3-2 earlier in the week as Gdovin blasted a career best 28 kills in the win. She has had the best stretch of the season over the past three matches as she also had 36 kills in their two wins a week ago. Over that three match stretch she terminated 64 kills for a 4.9 k/s average while scoring at a 57% rate. The 5'10 pin gets up well and has veteran arm control to be able to score with good range through the opponent's court.   [player_tooltip player_id='502144' first='Kaela' last='Jenkins'] - Columbian The 6'1 sophomore middle was huge for Columbian in their recent win over Norwalk. She has a physical arm and it has come alive over recent matches for the Tornadoes. She is on a four-match run over 20 kills as she terminated 109 kills with an average of 5.7 k/s, just head of her season average. She scores from the middle and on the pins with big contact at the top of her jump. With just over 170 total kills over her freshman season in 2022, Jenkins is approaching 400 kills in 2023 alone. Columbian is 14-6 overall.   [player_tooltip player_id='502136' first='Grace' last='Woodward'] - Wheelersburg Woodward, a 5'9 sophomore outside hitter, was steady this past week for Wheelersburg. With consecutive matches earning 14 kills each, she helped lead the Pirates to consecutive 3-0 sweeps to improve their season to an impressive 19-2 overall record. She is averaging a team best 3.5 k/s, just ahead of her teammate in the middle. This season is a big uptick from her output in 2022 in a reserve role and she has stepped up in great form bringing an aggressive arm on the left side of the floor. She gets it done on the defensive side as well as she has picked up 244 total digs this season.
