District 6 (listed in seed order) @ Waynesville
Kickapoo, Ozark, Nixa, Glendale, Republic, Lebanon, Waynesville, Central (Springfield)
Kickapoo comes in red hot as the top seed being winners of 18 straight matches. Their four losses were in a four-day span, with the last happening on 9/9. Bella Faria has been the offensive leader, while Kya Johnson Kya Johnson DS/L Kickapoo | 2024 State MO holds that title for the defense. Ozark will be the second seed and has 27 wins on their resume, which includes two ten-win streaks of their own this season. One of the four losses on their record comes to top seed Kickapoo. Reagan Baade Reagan Baade 5'8" | OH Ozark | 2024 State MO and Tara Venable Tara Venable 5'11" | OH Ozark | 2026 State MO have been the two-headed monsters in the kill compartment. This district is deep as evidenced by 27 win Nixa being the third seed. They started the year winning eleven straight, with some of those wins being over Kickapoo and Liberty North. Jacy Bray is closing in on 1,000 assists on the year and a few wins could get her there. 22-6 Glendale will take on 23-5 Republic in the 4 vs. 5 battle. Glendale won their first match-up this year 3 sets to 1 as Ella Ecker and Kaitlyn Brady earned ten kills each. Lebanon (19-10), Waynesville (6-22), and Central (2-31)
We are going chalk in the opening matches with the higher seeds getting the win. Kickapoo will defeat Glendale in the semifinal round. Ozark and Nixa will be a good one. Ozark got the sweep in the one time they faced off this year. That says a lot as Nixa is a good team. We don’t think it will be a sweep but we have Ozark in four. The championship, September 5th these teams were in the same gym and Kickapoo took them behind the woodshed in sets two and three. That alone makes it hard to go against them in this match and Kickapoo grabs a district title.
