They are 17-11 this year and they've got some really interesting pieces to their squad that could push them into a deep postseason run. They have a solid 1st contact with senior libero, [player_tooltip player_id='166014' first='Brielle' last='Cimbura']. Then freshman, [player_tooltip player_id='307273' first='Rilee' last='Enns'], takes the second contact and distributes it to a number of different weapons. Her most obvious weapons are junior outsides, [player_tooltip player_id='714972' first='Addison' last='Finney'], or [player_tooltip player_id='715044' first='Mary' last='Fields']. Senior middle, Hannah Buchman, has also found a lot of success at the net. However, I think the two players that could be real game changers are senior middle, Anna Stromberg, and junior right side, Delaney Boone. Stromberg is a big presence at the net and when she and Boone work together they create a smart and aggressive defense that's hard to beat.

Legacy Christian's Anna Stromberg

Zumbrota-Mazeppa

Another dark horse includes the Cougars of Zumbrota-Mazeppa. This is an interesting squad because I was expecting to see [player_tooltip player_id='200529' first='Megan' last='Jasperson'] in the role of Libero and instead I saw her playing as a 6 rotation pin. I LOVE it when a player defies over-specialization and steps in to do whatever is needed for her team. And Jasperson does just that. She is an explosive jumper and can fly. Opposite her, you can find junior, [player_tooltip player_id='463123' first='Ella' last='Chandler'] who has more height and can get off the floor quickly to terminate. The Cougars will take on Lake City on Thursday and have to work their way through a section including Caledonia and Chatfield.
