Chloé Andrieux-Amadeï | 5’10” | 2024 | MB | Windward High School
Playing as an adaptable middle, Chloé Andrieux-Amadeï plays both on the rightside and the middle. As she is lined up, her position is rightside but she is also effective in the middle. She works hard in the transition phase to make sure she can get a long approach. Each step in her approach is the same and Andrieux-Amadeï can also make small adjustment steps when needed. Additionally, she flexes her wrist back enough to get over the top of the ball. Her ability to adjust really makes her adaptable.
Channing Pauley | 2024 | L/DS | Windward High School
Channing Pauley plays the specialized role of a right back sub. This can often be a weakness in a team’s defense because the setter often releases to the net early to set. Pauley waits, reads, and understands the game well. As a team rotates, she is very aware of the personnel on the other side. For example, she keeps very active feet when the opponent has a front row setter. As much she waits, she has a range of moves she can make to the ball.
Bella Marrero | 5’6″ | 2024 | L | Campbell Hall High School
An athlete that finds the ball both before and after contact, like Bella Marrero, is sure to deliver a steady unwavering calmness to her team’s defense. Prior to contact is a fury of activity that is constantly following the game. When she sees something, she stops her movement. Marrero is really great and preparing and then letting the game happen. Another way to describe her pre contact movement is being a rover. When she watches setters and hitter, she always gets comfortable enough to explode and make a play.

was an archer, she certainly made a nice transition to volleyball. Specifically, Mijailovic is really great at drawing her arm back. From there, she quickly moves her arm into the ball for contact. From the start of her approach, she knows where she wants it set. Additionally, she makes excellent adjustment steps with her last two approach steps. When it comes to celebrations and teammates, she appears to view a kill as simply a kill never getting to up or down.
Sierra Starkman | 2024 | OH | Campbell Hall High School
One aspect of the hitting style of Sierra Starkman is a low contact point. Every style is going to have strengths and weaknesses. And for Starkman she trends toward more strengths. Her approach includes three big steps. Her patience allows her to maintain momentum with these steps. When in a tough set situation, she can be relied on to continue to look and actually score a point often. Specifically, she directs the ball to zone one just over the top of the head of the setter.
