In fact, the top two kill leaders in the state (according to MaxPreps) both come from the Class of 2025.
Here’s a look at the 10 kills leaders with the junior label thus far in the 2023 MHSAA season.

Navea Gauthier Navea Gauthier 6'1" | OH Shelby | 2025 State #56 Nation MI , Shelby
They don’t get much more productive than Gauthier. The junior power arm for Shelby is up to 597 kills through 71 sets this season. That puts her at 2,178 through her prep career. If she continues at this pace, Gauthier will go down as one of the all-time leaders in MHSAA history. This season, Gauthier has recorded double-digit kills in all but two matches. She’s got a season-high 33 kills in a three-set win over Holton late in September.
Iyla Weeks, Concord
Weeks has really been a breakout start this prep season. She’s sitting right at 500 kills on the year through 87 sets for Concord. She’s really been in a zone for the last few weeks, recording double-digit kills in 14 straight games. That includes a season-high 34 kills in a five-set win over Reading on Tuesday night.
Cassidy Pratley Cassidy Pratley 6'0" | MB Harper Creek | 2025 State MI , Harper Creek
Pratley has been the power arm for Harper Creek this season. She’s sitting at 433 kills through 77 sets while hitting an impressive .351 in the process. Pratley is quickly closing in on 1,000 career kills, as she sits at 911 through two varsity seasons. Pratley has 19 straight matches with double-digit kills, as she’s been the picture of consistency.
Isabelle Busignani Isabelle Busignani 6'1" | OH Marian | 2025 State #73 Nation MI , Marian
Busignani was the lead arm in Marian’s third straight state championship in 2022, and is now shouldering a big leadership role in 2023. This season, Busignani has recorded 372 kills while hitting .303. She just surpassed 1,000 career kills in a big rivalry win over Mercy on Tuesday night. Busignani put together a streak of five straight matches with at least 20 kills just a few weeks ago.
Adelee Kaiton Adelee Kaiton 5'10" | OH Forest Hills Eastern | 2025 State MI , Forest Hills Eastern
Eastern doesn’t shy away from tough competition, nor does Kaiton. The junior packs a real punch at the net, to the tune of 356 kills in the 2023 season. She’s recorded double-digit kills in seven of her last eight matches, including 18 against Traverse City Central.
Ava Oleski Ava Oleski 5'10" | OH Croswell-Lexington | 2025 State MI , Croswell-Lexington
Oleski has put in a lot of swings for the Pioneers, who have had a great 2023 season with 36 wins already in the books. Oleski has 345 kills on the year and just remains steady in each match. She’s not putting up 20-kill matches, but she’s also always recording at least 7-8 kills a night.
Cambria Gaier Cambria Gaier 5'11" | OH Caledonia | 2025 State MI , Caledonia
Gaier is the offensive leader for a solid Caledonia offense this season. She’s sitting at 339 kills on the year, already a new career-high for the junior. Gaier is coming off one of her top performances last week when she recorded 20 kills in a four-set win over West Ottawa.
Elyse Heffner Elyse Heffner 6'1" | MB Traverse City Central | 2025 State MI , Traverse City Central
Heffner is handling Northern Michigan when it comes to offensive production. The junior for TC Central is sitting at 322 kills on the season and coming off one of her top performances when she tallied 29 kills in a five-set win over Cadillac. Heffner has multiple 20-kill performances on the year.
Chloe Aalfs Chloe Aalfs 5'10" | OH Buchanan | 2025 State MI , Buchanan
Aalfs has been pouring it on as of late for Buchanan, a Division 3 contender in 2023. The junior outside has climbed up to 292 kills on the season. Recent outings have seen her amass 20 kills against Watervliet and 23 kills against Niles Brandywine.
Taylor Cook Taylor Cook 5'10" | OH St. John's | 2025 State MI , St. Johns
Cook is keeping St. Johns among the top teams in the Lansing area this season by racking up 283 kills through 78 sets of play. She’s already matched her career-high for kills in a season with plenty of time to add to the total. Her top performance of the year was a 20-kill effort in a big four-set win over Mason back in August.
