Class 6A is the division scouted in this final report.
Here are eight prospects who want nothing more than to help their respective clubs punch a ticket to the state tournament in Salina.
This makes 48 prospects covered in six scouting reports and I am counting down the days to one of my favorite weekends of the year.
Logan Parks Logan Parks 5'11" | S Blue Valley North | 2025 State #8 Nation KS ,6’0”, OH/S, Blue Valley North, ‘25
Parks is a six-rotation player for the No. 1 seed in the eastern sub-state. The junior star can fill up a stat sheet. Through 79 sets played she has racked up 357 kills, 52 total blocks, 191 digs, 302 assists, and 72 service aces. The Mustangs (32-3) will host a sub-state and face Olathe North (9-23) in the first round. Shawnee Mission Northwest (18-16) and Olathe East (18-16) will meet each other in the No. 8 and No. 9 seed tilt.
Kaitlyn Burke Kaitlyn Burke 5'10" | OH Mill Valley | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, OH, Mill Valley, ‘24
Burke is putting up big numbers in her senior season. She has 268 kills to lead Mill Valley and has added 207 digs and 274 serve receptions in 78 sets played. Mill Valley (29-5) is the No. 2 seed in the east and will face No. 15-seeded Shawnee Mission South in the first round. Number seven-seeded Olathe South (15-12) and No. 10 Blue Valley Northwest is the other match in the sub-state to be played in Shawnee.
Anna Alexander Anna Alexander 5'10" | OH Shawnee Mission East | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, OH/DS, Shawnee Mission East, ‘24
The Lancers and Alexander enter the 6A sub-state as the No. 6 seed with a record of 22-11. Alexander is a solid-around player who has recorded 191 kills, 152 digs, and 318 serve receptions in 82 sets played. Shawnee Mission East will face Lawrence 15-17 in the first round. The No. 3-seeded Olathe Northwest Ravens (28-5) are the favorite to come out of this sub-state and face KC-Wyandotte (6-12) in the first round.
Peyton Kubik, 6’1”, OH, Blue Valley West, ‘27
The No. 5-seeded Jags will be a handful in the east. Kubik, a freshman sensations, unofficially leads all of 6A in kills with 331 in 75 sets played. She also has 337 serve receptions which is a ton for a player of her size. Blue Valley West will face Gardner-Edgerton (15-19) in the first round. The host Olathe West Owls are 25-6 and the No. 4 overall seed in the east. The Owls will face Blue Valley (13-18) in the first round.
Lilly Like, 5’8”, OH/OPP, Derby, ‘26
Like is a young prospect who will look to help Derby punch a ticket to Salina. Like leads the Panthers in kills with 218 in 83 sets played. The Panthers are the No. 8 seed in the west and will face Wichita Heights (12-22) in the first round. Whichever team wins that match-up will more than likely meet the No. 1-seeded Washburn Rural (26-10). The Junior Blues face Junction City (4-24) in the first round. The defending state champs do not post statistics on public sites.
Kamdyn Carr, 5’7”, OH, Garden City, ‘24
Carr is a six-rotation prospect for the Buffaloes. The senior outside hitter has filled up her volleyball card with 211 kills, 286 digs, and 362 serve receptions. Garden City (23-13) is the No. 2 seed in the western sub-states and faces Wichita-Southeast (6-25) in the first round. Campus (13-18) and Topeka High (10-23) will meet in the other Garden City sub-state match.
Joscelyn Buckley Joscelyn Buckley 5'11" | OH Maize | 2024 State KS , 5’11”, OH, Maize, ‘24
Buckley is the top attacker for the Eagles. She leads the team in kills with 226 in 79 sets played. Maize (16-18) is the No. 6 seed, but don’t let the record fool you, the Eagles play a very tough schedule. The Eagles will face Liberal (9-21) in the first round. The top seed in this sub-state is No. 3 seed Wichita-North. The 20-12 Redhawks will face Free State (8-24) in their first-round contest.

The Grizzlies are the No. 5 seed in the west. Mitchell is a long and lanky middle hitter. She leads the Grizzlies in kills with 252 in 72 sets played. She is also an enforcer up front with 46 total blocks. Northwest (20-14) faces Wichita-East (8-20) in the first round. Manhattan is the No. 4 seed and hosts this sub-state. The Indians (21-14) will meet Dodge City (9-24) in the first round.
