With playoffs just around the corner, look for these difference makers to push their squads into the final phase of the high school season.
Fisher is a senior and one of the captain’s of a Skyline team poised to make a run at a state tournament spot. She is a savvy setter who knows how to find the Skyline attackers in good matchups, and her 486 assists rank among the state leaders. Fisher has racked up multiple 40 assist matches including three in a row in victories over Eastlake, Issaquah and Mt. Si (46, 47 & 42). Most importantly for any setter leading her team, Skyline is at the top of the Kingco Crest Division with important matches against Eastlake and North Creek upcoming.
A 2026 outside hitter for the 2B River View Panthers, Koch is versatile enough to step in and set, and plays middle back on defense and in serve receive. River View has a hold on first place in the EWAC East Conference, Koch brings intensity and competitiveness to the court and has the confidence to take a big swing as a sophomore. Playing alongside attackers Marina Jimenez and Aliyah Malone, Koch give the Panthers a front line that can score and works hard on the block.
Mathison has the hang time to adjust to a set anywhere along the net, and the senior has grown her game to take advantage of soft tips and off-speed shots this season. Her ability to go up and rip a swing down the line or through the block has been difficult for Trico 1A opponents to handle, and she wants to take big swings with a match on the line. The Knights are loaded with upperclassmen, 11 total seniors and juniors combined- look for this tough squad to make a playoff run with Mathison leading the way.
Niewiadomski plays a solid all around game from her outside hitter spot. and Sehome leans on the sophomore outside in big moments. In a recent match with Burlington-Edison, Niewiadomski recorded 18 kills and 18 digs, showing her prowess in both phases of the game. Sehome dropped the match in 5 sets, giving B-E all they could handle. Just a 2026 prospect, expect Niewiandomski to continue to improve her offensive toolbox and continue her physical brand of play.
Highlights
Kreuch is a multi-sport athlete who has been posting double-doubles in the biggest matches for her Lakeside Eagle’s from 9 Mile Falls. The dynamic attacker racked up 10 kills and 16 digs versus Shadle Park, and posted 4 aces and 17 digs in a win over Deer Park. Kreuch forms a powerful pair along with senior Avery Haff on the perimeter, the Eagles have a difficult end of season non-league double-header versus Chelan and Cashmere coming up.
The junior libero from Tahoma has been making plays to keep the Bears in the hunt for the 4A NPSL title this season. Her setters are both able to move the ball pin to pin, when Peschel is pushing through the ball and giving her team a chance to work Tahoma is dangerous. Peschel will be called on to deliver in serve receive while quarterbacking the defense as the Bears have a four-game stretch versus excellent 4A opponents pending. (Kennedy Catholic, Curtis, Mt. Rainier and Kentwood)
The sophomore outside hitter is a big part of the offensive attack for the Braves out of the Mid Columbia Conference. Krumland uses a big vertical and her quick arm to rack u kills in her 3 rotations in the front row. The 5’7 attacker can hit a tight angle and is smart when she has to work with an out of system ball well off the net, working to keep the ball in play and putting pressure on the opposing defenders.
