led Steele with a terrific offensive performance. Th 6’0 middle earned a team high 23 kills on a .413 efficiency as she scored on 50% of her attempts. She was supported well by Kendal Dobbins as the 5’10 sophomore pin had a career best 18 kills as she was efficient as well at a .386 clip. Both made solid contributions on the defensive side as well as Waynar patrolled the net effectively earning nine total blocks as Dobbins picked up 10 digs for the double-double. Waynar has been a factor for this program for four varsity seasons and is performing consistent with her 2022 career best numbers. She is approaching 800 total career kills while averaging a career best 4.5 blocks per frame in her final season. Dobbins, in her first varsity season for the Comets, is second overall offensively at 2.0 k/s. She has a big swing in the air that is proving to be a key factor now and for the future of this program.
Seton Bounces Back with Two Big Wins
Following the much anticipated rematch between the GGCL’s two top teams earlier last week between Seton and Mercy McAuley, Seton then was slated to take on two more of Ohio’s highly regarded programs this past Saturday for a grueling late-season stretch. The top-ranked DI Seton Saints fell short against the top-ranked DII Mercy McAuley Wolves in a five-set battle but remain atop the GGCL league standings given that was their first loss in league play. Mercy McAuley is 6-2 in the GGCL. On Saturday, Seton played consecutive matches versus DII #2 Gilmour Academy and DI #11 Centerville. Versus Gilmour Academy, Seton won 3-1. The following match was a statement win as the Saints beat the previously undefeated Elks of Centerville in a 3-0 sweep. Senior

has Huge Weekend
Leading the Elks to a 1-1 record on Saturday, Wuebker (*pictured) provided some of her best offensive production of the season in a single day. In Centerville’s 3-1 win over Gilmour Academy, she hammered 30 kills on a .368 efficiency to go along with 12 digs, which tied for team high with three of her teammates. In their loss to Seton, the Ohio State commit earned 16 kills and a team high 15 digs. For the day, she averaged 6.6 kills and 3.9 digs per set. Wuebker is a high flyer with a cannon of an arm. She continues to lead the GWOC offensively with 317 total kills on the season. Centerville is 18-1 overall and perfect atop the GWOC standings with a three match lead over second place. They are the current #11 DI ranked team and are set to face non-conference opponent Mount Notre Dame and GWOC foe Wayne before they round out their regular season slate with a big match versus DI #3 St. Ursula (Cincinnati) on the road.
