[player_tooltip player_id='179749' first='Ava' last='Anderson'] – 2024 – Middle – Lee's Summit West

The outside hitter had a huge match against Kickapoo during the 3rd place game. She put down 12 kills and had 24 digs in the win. In the semifinal loss to Howell, she was 1 kill away from a double-double with 9 kills and 10 digs.

The big-time lefty was dynamite in the 2 games in Cape tallying 17 kills and hitting .316 in the semifinals. In the championship, she had some major hits and finished with 11 kills and hit .258.

[player_tooltip player_id='124219' first='Alyssa' last='Nelson'] – 2024 – Setter – Lafayette

Nelson is a winner and has been since she took over the offense for the Lancers. Two state titles and runs the show at Lafayette. She would finish the weekend with 70 assists in two 3-0 sweeps.

[player_tooltip player_id='475339' first='Shaye' last='Witherspoon'] – 2027 – Opposite - Lafayette

Shaye was introduced to the final four with a shot to the face. How did she respond? The newbie would hit .500 in the win with eight kills with no errors on 16 attempts. In the semifinals, she finished with 10 kills on 19 attempts with 0 errors and hit .526. Pretty tough way for her opponents to get introduced to the fabulous freshman.

[player_tooltip player_id='124220' first='Ellie' last='Emms'] – 2024 – Middle – Lafayette

Something about her on the court makes Lafayette a better team. She's not dominating offensively or defensively but she's got that it factors. If anything, she's an efficient middle who had 5 kills on 8 attempts for a .625 hitting percentage in the semifinals. In the finals, she hit .400 with 6 kills on 10 attempts.

My MVP of the Class 5 Championship, Maya racked up 14 kills and 10 digs in the semifinals against Kickapoo. In the finals, she had a match-high 21 kills and 10 digs. She has become a solid defender, and her backrow attacks are just as powerful. She was relied on countless times over the weekend and averaged a double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs. She has one more year to try and get a third title and will be instrumental in Lafayette's success next season.
