We have been watching the 2024 class very closely throughout the entire high school and new club season. A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person and also by watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone’s recruiting profiles. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to move up in the rankings due to their individual performances.
Charlie Fuerbringer Charlie Fuerbringer 5'11" | S Mira Costa | 2024 State #2 Nation CA [2024] 5-11 Setter (HS: Mira Costa/Club: Mizuno Long Beach/Verbal: Wisconsin)
Charlie is currently ranked as the 2nd best overall player according to our National Rankings. She is now ranked as the best overall prospect and top setter in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Mira Costa High School and for the nationally recognized Mizuno Long Beach Volleyball club program. Miss Fuerbringer truly needs no introduction as she is on our USA Volleyball U19 National Team as one of the setters. She is no stranger to the big stage as she has already won USA GJNC Open championships and led her high school team to a state championship also. Here is a brief recap of a recent article on her play, “Her level of play over the years has proven to be at an elite level and extremely consistent. She moves around the court so well as she tracks down passes out of serve receive and hard driven digs form her back row. Charlie is a phenomenal beach player also which helps her overall ball control and dynamic athleticism. This is one reason why her hands are so smooth when she releases the ball. Her ability to hit the bulls eye on the target is second to none in the state.” Recently she helped lead Team USA U19 team to a gold medal at the FIVB World Championship this summer in Croatia. The Wisconsin commit continues to show the entire world just how good she is on the volleyball court. We are very proud of her being from Cali. Please help us congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named as the best volleyball player in the state of California in the 2024 class.
Taylor Williams Taylor Williams 6'2" | RS Saint Francis | 2024 State #160 Nation CA [2024] 6-1 Outside (HS: St. Francis/Club: Vision/Verbal: Duke University)
Taylor is now ranked as the 4th best overall prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at St. Francis High School and for the nationally recognized Vision Volleyball club program. I watched this young lady twice last season at national tournaments and she wowed everyone in attendance of her matches. Here is a little refresher of an article that was written about her play, “She was the focal point of her club team’s offense and delivered each time her number was called on by her setter. Her abilities stretch across the entire court as she is a true six-rotation player and can score from anywhere. Her team runs her out of designed routes when she is in the back row and move her around to the middle of the court when she is in the front row for second tempo sets. While on the pins, she showed a lot of weapons scoring both down the line and cross-court.” Miss Williams is now verbally committed to playing volleyball at Duke University next season. There is no doubt in my mind that she will be an immediate impact player at the next level from the moment that she arrives on campus. She has truly earned her place in the State Rankings with continued consistent high-level play. Please help us congratulate her on being named the best players in the State of California.
Taylor Yu Taylor Yu 6'0" | S Temple City | 2024 State #15 Nation CA [2024] 6-0 Outside/Setter (HS: Temple City/Club: SG Elite/Verbal: Stanford)
Taylor has moved up a few spots to now be ranked as the 9th best overall prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She is also ranked as the 15th best overall prospect in our National Rankings also. She stars for Temple City High School and for the SG Elite Volleyball club. Miss Yu is very well-known by us at Prep Dig as we have covered her for a while now. Recently we covered her in an article and this is what we stated, “This young lady has prototypical size and skills for the next level. She is a very skilled setter and hits at an elite level as well. This season so far she has amassed 375 kills on a super impressive .471 hitting percentage. That means that she is almost unstoppable from the offensive end. Every night she is a problem for opposing head coaches to try to game plan for. Routinely she is racking up double digit kills each match.” There are not enough words in the English language to accurately describe how good of an overall volleyball player she is. Her ability to be at the top of the list in two demanding categories like setting and attacking leave me speechless sometimes. Miss Yu is a wonderfully talented young lady who is committed to playing college volleyball at Stanford next year. Please help us congratulate her on moving up the list of State Ranked players in this update.
