Karlin Burton Karlin Burton 5'7" | OH Shelbyville | 2027 State IN , 5-7 RS/S, Shelbyville, Team Indiana
Karlin is a hybrid athlete that can set in a pinch while also hitting high and hard from the right side. Watching her swing during the season, she looks very comfortable when the setter is to her right, leading me to believe that she would be better off as an outside when she hits. My guess is that she was needed as a right side for high school season because of her setting ability. She also owns a pair of nice hands that can handle the ball with control when needed.
Lila Bruszewski Lila Bruszewski 6'1" | MB Carmel | 2027 State IN , 6-1 MB/RS, Carmel, Circle City
Long and lean, Lila can hit any shot in the book off of two feet. Currently solid as an M2, she could also be characterized as a big pin to put balls away against smaller blockers as well as be a solid defensive force. Her fast arm, coupled with a ready-to-swing attitude, makes her a solid pickup for any size school at the next level.
Avery Little Avery Little 5'9" | MB North Posey | 2027 State IN , 5-9 MB/RS, North Posey, Metro
Projected to be more of a pin player at the next level because of her size, Avery more than held her own in the middle at our Freshman Showcase a few months ago. She’s transitions quickly to beat the slower middles, and she jumps well enough to beat middles more her size. I hope to get a chance to see her play a bit more, as her training at Metro will really let me know how much she’s progressed since I saw her last.
Kinley Young Kinley Young 6'1" | MB Lebanon | 2027 State IN , 6-1 MB, Lebanon, Boiler Juniors
I got a chance to see Miss Young play at summer league at the Academy a few months ago. When you see middles who are freshmen play in a varsity summer league, they look slow, lost and sometimes freeze because there’s just so much coming at them at a speed they’re unfamiliar with. Not Kinley. Her length IS her strength, and she either blocked or slowed down nearly every attacker she saw. Her attack touch is very high, and could project to be either an M1 or an M2 at the next level. She also uses her long legs to transition well and defend from pin to pin.
Kyla Hurley Kyla Hurley 5'4" | DS/L PENN | 2028 IN , 5-3 DS/L, Penn, Team Pineapple
Willing to do the dirty work as all upper-level DS’s should, Kyla has fast feet, a quiet platform and anticipates well. At our Freshman Showcase a few months ago, Miss Hurley got a ton of solid touches on the ball in both serve receive and transition, and didn’t shy away from hard-driven attacks. Her continued efforts to perfect her craft are evident, and I look forward to seeing more of the same when this spring rolls around.
