Continue ReadingIt doesn’t matter what level you play at when you think about the fact that NCAA research shows that only four percent of high school volleyball players play in college. Texas is second to none when it comes to our players earning the right to play at the next level. The offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming. We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams. We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the club and high school volleyball season. They also have been hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their college decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Kaylee Cavazos Kaylee Cavazos 5'6" | DS/L James Madison | 2024 TX [2024] 5-7 Libero (HS: Madison/Club: South Texas Volleyball Academy/Verbal: St. Mary’s University)
Kaylee is currently an unranked prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but is on our watch list. She plays volleyball at Madison High School and also plays club for the South Texas Volleyball Academy program. Miss Cavazos is someone who we have watched for the past few years blossom into a wonderful defensive stud. She truly takes command of the back row and is stellar at serve receive. I love how she is always balanced at the point of contact with her platform. This helps her to be super consistent with the delivery of the ball to her setter. She always stays super laser focused on the ball when it is on the opponent’s side of the court. This kind of eye-tracking is key for the libero position as they must not get distracted. Every time I have watched her play, she is always putting herself into a perfect position to play the ball and this speaks volumes about her volleyball IQ in the libero position. We are extremely proud to announce that she has decided to play volleyball at St. Mary’s University. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing at the next level.
Olivia Brown Olivia Brown 5'3" | DS/L Flower Mound | 2024 TX [2024] 5-3 Libero (HS: Flower Mound/Club: Fieldhouse Volleyball Club/Verbal: Wichita State University)
Olivia is currently an unranked prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but is on our watch list. She plays volleyball at Flower Mound High School and club for the Fieldhouse Volleyball program. Miss Brown is a super quick and very talented back row floor general. I love the way she reads the ball off of the attackers hands. While moving laterally to set up defensively, she still has the ability to push off of her outside foot and gain an extra few feet to laterally extend for the ball. Her platform work outside of her body can best be described as stellar. Her natural soft touch on the ball just cannot be taught. The ball is rarely dug over the net and always kept on her side. I can’t tell you how many times her emergency techniques have saved her teams in long rallies. She will make some waves at the next level for sure. I don’t think she is done getting better at her craft. We are proud to announce that she recently committed to playing volleyball at Wichita State University. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing college volleyball.
Jordan Taylor Jordan Taylor 6'5" | MB Langham Creek | 2025 State #46 Nation TX [2025] 6-5 Middle (HS: Langham Creek/Club: Houston Juniors /Verbal: Minnesota)
Jordan is currently ranked as the 44th best overall prospect in the state according to the 2024 Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for Langham Creek High School and plays club for the Houston Juniors volleyball program. Miss Taylor is a very lengthy middle who takes up a lot of real estate on the court. Laterally she moves pretty quickly to close the block, but I think she truly excels on her press over the net. The way she uses those arms to seal the net away from would-be point scorers is next level already. Currently we have her ranked as the 12th best middle in her grad class but that could be changing very soon with what we have witnessed this past year. We are proud to announce that she has committed to playing volleyball at University of Minnesota. Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of playing at the next level. Stay tuned for more on Jordan as we think she is ready to take her game to another stratosphere.
