Only the top four teams in the state make it to the Redbird Arena in each class. Class 1A includes Hartsburg-Emden, Cissna Park, St. Anthony, and Galena. Here are some of the stand-out performances from the IHSA state championships!
Gracie is an absolute stud athlete. She plays all six rotations and is absolutely relentless on the court. She is the go-to hitter on this talented Galena team and is simply dominant. In the semifinal match she led the team in kills and digs. She hit a 0.400, a truly impressive number for a pin hitter. In the state championship match, Gracie had 10 kills and hit a 0.229. Her efficiency and low errors make her a very valuable pin.

Mya was so impressive because she is a 6-rotation middle. She is consistent in the back row and explosive in the front. Mya has excellent court awareness and reads opposing players well in defense. She is a player on the rise in this class.

Addie Hefel
Next to Gracie, Addie had the next most attempts in the semifinal match. And she absolutely dominated in the championship match. Addie led the team in kills and hit 0.323 in the championship match. Addie showed her grit and leadership throughout the tournament and was an impressive athlete to watch.

Abbi Hatton
Abbi Hatton
Abbi is a senior captain for this Bulldogs squad, and it showed in her play. She led the team in kills in the semifinal match and also had 10 digs and 4 service receptions. Abbi just knew how to make plays work for her and showed a lot of grit on the court. Abbi hit a 0.276 in the 3rd place match up and was key to their win and 3rd place finish.

While Anna was fairly quiet in the semifinal matchup, she dominated the 3rd place match. Andrea led the team in kills with 13 and hit 0.323. She also contributed 8 digs and a block to the match and was a consistent and reliable player in their 3rd place finish.

Brooklyn Stadeli
Brooklyn is a powerful pin hitter who could take some huge rips on the ball. She was smart and efficient, hitting 0.385 with 6 kills on 13 attempts. She also was key in controlling the ball on serve receive, and defense and was a reliable leader on the court.

Addison Lucht
Addison Lucht
Addison is an all-around athlete. She knows how to perform in high-pressure situations, and she does so consistently. Addison was named 1st Team All State and dominated all aspects of the game at the state tournament. She led the team in kills and aces in the semifinal match and had numerous service receptions and digs.
Addie played outside during the high school season and absolutely rocked it. In the semifinal match, she had 7 kills and no errors, hitting 0.500. She also led the team in digs and service receptions and had a solo block. She is a senior captain who stepped up in big situations. She also led the team in kills and hitting percentage in the championship match.

Alayna is a rising star on this team. She is great in transition and knows how to execute at the net. She led the team in kills in the semifinal match and was a go-to hitter, having the majority of total attempts. Alayna has a lot of potential and will be a player to watch.
