[player_tooltip player_id='205304' first='Emmy' last='Gayle'] – 5'8” – South Iron

Gayle was the backbone of the Panthers getting to the state title match against Advance. Her game increased dramatically from last season as she more than doubled her kill total from 142 to 385. She was the top kill leader for all of 2025 Class 1 pin hitters. She also added in 372 digs. An all-around six-rotation hitter was one of the top hitters in all of Class 1.

[player_tooltip player_id='170049' first='Sidney' last='Hawkins'] – 5'9” – Lesterville

Another Black River League conference player on the list is Hawkins. Sidney had to play multiple positions this season as an outside, middle, and even set half the season. She would double her kill total and ended with 327 kills, 246 digs, and 185 assists. Sidney runs a nice slide and has hands good enough to be a 5-1 setter a position she never played before this season.

Morgan Mattingley – 5'9” – Archie

Morgan hits on either pin but I feel she is better on the right pin. She hits a nice line shot on the right and puts up a solid block for the Whirlwinds. With 309 kills and 350 digs, Morgan finished 1st in kills and 2nd in digs. Look for her offensive load to increase more next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='737692' first='Lizzie' last='Schlueter'] – 5'10” – East Atchison

When I watched Lizzie last year at the final four, I could tell she would have big seasons for the Wolves. The six-rotation outside finished with 280 kills this season and guided EA to another great year. She has the height and power to make a tough outside and plays the floor well.

Tamiya Burse – 5'7” – South Iron

Of all of the Class 1 players I watched this season Tamiya is I saw the most improvement from the prior season. Tamiya can hit over blockers because of her vertical and hangtime Blockers are coming down while she's still in the air. I watched her pound some balls. Still extremely raw but her upside is off the charts. Finished the season with 186 kills and 337 digs.
