The one thing that didn’t change is Abigail Mullen Abigail Mullen 6'3" | RS Liberty | 2025 State #3 Nation MO remaining at the top. Her high school season got started late after playing with Team USA U19 and U23 teams this summer. She averaged five kills per set in her junior season. She also made her college choice known this fall, choosing USC. Jordan Smith Jordan Smith 6'4" | OH Francis Howell Central | 2025 State #59 Nation MO and Tera Greenberry both moved up to capture the second and third spots. We always note stats are one piece of the puzzle and potential is another we look at. Both of these athletes bring size to the table which makes a difference at the next level. Smith had 464 kills this fall. Her ability to find the floor and hit over defenders was an asset, one she will take with her to North Carolina State. Greenberry had 513 kills in her junior season. Greenberry had 108 blocks. Greenberry also almost totaled 100 digs as a middle. Her stock rose even more this season and she will head to the University of Houston.
Maya Witherspoon Maya Witherspoon 5'11" | OH Lafayette | 2025 State #44 Nation MO slid down to the fourth spot in our updated rankings. It isn’t that she didn’t perform this last year, we believe the others had greater strides and impact. Witherspoon will be part of the Vanderbilt program making their debut season in 2025. Her junior stat line included 435 kills and 262 digs. Next, we have another attacker in Reagan Nelson Reagan Nelson 6'0" | OH Pattonville | 2025 State #107 Nation MO of Pattonsville. 1400 kills in her high school career, with 539 of them coming this year. She almost touched the 500 dig mark as well, finishing with 458. We didn’t forget it was just a couple of years ago she was raking up MVP honors at nationals. The third pin in a row takes up the sixth place in our rankings in Hannah Leftridge Hannah Leftridge 5'10" | OH St. Pius X (Festus) | 2025 State MO . Leftridge stands at only 5’10” but it doesn’t stop her from attacking with smarts and vengeance. She will be joining the above-mentioned Smith at North Carolina State when her prep playing days are complete. She averaged 4.5 kills per set, up from her previous year.
Our top setter in the class comes in at seven in St. Dominic’s Brytn Lyon Brytn Lyon 6'1" | S St. Dominic | 2025 State MO . The setter will head to the Big 12 to play for Texas Tech in a couple of years. At 6’1″, she has the size and skill set to be a difference-maker on the court. In her junior season, she displayed that talent with 676 assists and contributed swinging with 162 kills. Behind Lyon is another pin from Jackson High School, Katherine St. John Katherine St. John 6'1" | OH Jackson | 2025 State MO . She plays for Pursuit volleyball and if you are surprised by the ranking, you haven’t seen her in action. The long 6’1″ outside hitter does some things on the court that separate her from other players. She is already the school’s all-time leading scorer with a year to go.
The final two in the top ten are Jenna Cubbage Jenna Cubbage 5'11" | MB Eureka | 2025 State MO of Eureka and Morgan Dumm of Francis Howell. Cubbage gave teams headaches during both the high school and club seasons in 2023. The Wichita St. bound Cubbage had over 300 kills and 200 digs this fall. Dumm will move over to High Performance this year to set their 18’s team after numerous seasons of sharing the duties at Rockwood. We have seen her primarily in a two-setter offense since we started following her. This year for Francis Howell she tallied 673 assists and 232 digs.
