The latest rankings update is up and LIVE!
For the class of 2026, we are coming into a HUGE year. Not only do we have the sophomore year of club on the horizon, but even further in the distance, we have that illusive June 15th date that every prospect looks to. June 15th is when the floodgates of recruiting go live, and this class is up next. 2023 was a pretty big year for these prospects, but 2024 will be even bigger!
With all of the excitement from 2023 coming to a close, let’s take a look at the top 5 outside hitters in the rankings.
No. 2 Gabby DiVita Gabby DiVita 6'1" | OH Grosse Pt. South | 2026 State MI – Grosse Pt. South/Legacy
She’s not only one of the hottest prospects in the Michigan 2026 class, but she may be one of the hottest prospects nationally. Gabby DiVita Gabby DiVita 6'1" | OH Grosse Pt. South | 2026 State MI is creating herself quite the name in the volleyball world. She is practically a household name at this point. After her two years playing in the 15s division, DiVita has garnered a multiple All-American honors, top finishes at both AAU and USAV nationals, and of course, a National Championship at AAUs in 2022. She’s already so decorated and ONLY going into her sophomore year of club.
Speaking of that incoming club season, DiVita is surely amongst every college coaches’ shortlist for June 15th already. She’s one of the biggest names for this class and will be a quick pick come this time.
No. 5 Karis Chatfield Karis Chatfield 5'11" | OH Jenison | 2026 State MI – Jenison/FaR Out
You’ll learn very quickly that this 2026 class is STACKED at the pins. I’d argue this one has one of the heaviest arms of the group as well. Karis Chatfield Karis Chatfield 5'11" | OH Jenison | 2026 State MI – keep that name on your radar because she’s only getting started. After a huge club season with FaR Out 15 Black, earning Top 5 honors at AAUs, Chatfield was a force to be reckoned with this fall. Jenison was one of the most dangerous dark horses, largely due to this underclassman’s overall game. A super heavy arm, but yet can pass like a top tier libero.
Coming into 2024, I highly recommend to scouts and coaches, put this name on your list and circle it. Chatfield is going to be a really huge pick up for any team coming into this illusive June 15th date.
No. 7 Liv Hosford Liv Hosford 5'11" | OH Rockford | 2026 State MI – Rockford/MVA
Another west side commodity, but this time from the MVA cannon. Liv Hosford Liv Hosford 5'11" | OH Rockford | 2026 State MI is cooking up something really exciting coming into the new year. A kid that really fell under many’s radar in club season, she was bringing in a lot of hype coming into the fall camp. Expectations were there, and expectations were exceeded. The Rockford Rams have been a little quiet for a few seasons, but get ready to hear all about them for years to come because of Hosford on deck. This player was the game-changer to this legendary program’s resurgence.
A, once, middle blocker, now, a fully bonafide pin attacker. This is going to be a great club season for Hosford. Over the past few months, she’s really developed an elite overall game from her offense to her defense. I’ll surely be keeping tabs on this player.
No. 8 Aubree Deshetsky Aubree Deshetsky 5'9" | OH North Branch | 2026 State MI – North Branch/Legacy
We are no strangers to the Deshetsky name in Michigan. This name has offered up some of the best volleyball that North Branch has seen ina few years. However, as the lineage continues, the better they get. Aubree Deshetsky Aubree Deshetsky 5'9" | OH North Branch | 2026 State MI may be the best one yet… And she’s JUST getting started. Last year saw the young gun embark on her first ever club season, what a way to kick off things. By the end of the season, she was one of the top kids on court with her steady overall play. This fall, she was the top arm on the court for North Branch, garnering over 500 kills and 300 digs in a single season. Leading the way to not only the Bronco’s second straight state title, but a Final Four MVP honor as well.
Now, i anticipate this club season will look a whole lot different for Deshetsky than last. A much more defined player in her overall game, but she’s coming in with a lot more pop in her swings as well. This Legacy group will be hungry for a national title after last year, surely, Deshetsky’s growth will make it a no-brainer.
No. 9 Madeline Dettling Madeline Dettling 6'0" | OH SMCC | 2026 State MI – SMCC/Michigan Elite
Rounding out the list, we have Madeline Dettling Madeline Dettling 6'0" | OH SMCC | 2026 State MI . While we didn’t get a lot of Dettling in the early goings of the year, when she joined 15 Mizuno, it was a big game-changer for the squad. This player is a high flyer with a great knack to find open court. Her offense was an immediate difference maker, but come the end of club, she was making a case for a full six rotation load. She would end up doing this in high school where she found her role at SMCC significantly increased. Not only did Dettling impress attacking, but her back court play was stellar for the Final Four bound Kestrels.
Going into the club season, this may be another slow start for this prospect. While taking some time off to recover from surgery, non-volleyball related, Dettling may be a later arrival. However, once back into the full swing of the game, Dettling will be a huge player for 16 Mizuno.
