The latest rankings update is up and LIVE!
For the class of 2026, we are coming into a HUGE year. Not only do we have the sophomore year of club on the horizon, but even further in the distance, we have that illusive June 15th date that every prospect looks to. June 15th is when the floodgates of recruiting go live, and this class is up next. 2023 was a pretty big year for these prospects, but 2024 will be even bigger!
With all of the excitement from 2023 coming to a close, let’s take a look at the top 5 setters in the rankings.
No. 4 Emma Keeping Emma Keeping 5'11" | S Imlay City | 2026 State MI – Imlay City/Michigan Elite
Get you a setter that can simply do it all. We saw this player running the offense and then be the offense, both of which were exceptional. Emma Keeping Emma Keeping 5'11" | S Imlay City | 2026 State MI , in her first club season with a high level club did nothing BUT impress. Whether she was running down balls or putting them away with her south paw, Keeping quickly became a main attraction. Fast forward to the fall season, Keeping would be fairly absent throughout the bulk of it due to injury. But when she returned back late October, she was playing as though she had never left the court.
Maybe one of the most dynamic setters in Michigan, Keeping is trained by some of the best in the business – Mayssa Cook & Rachel (Minarick) Van Dyke. I am excited to see how Keeping performs throughout the club season after taking some time off this fall.
No. 9 Eva Long Eva Long 5'9" | S Fenton | 2026 State MI – Fenton/Legacy
A setter’s job is not one for the weak. But when you got a team like Eva Long Eva Long 5'9" | S Fenton | 2026 State MI ‘s, not only is it fun, but you get the problem of “Who do I want to set now?!”. This setter is EQUIPPED with options on options. I would say Long did quite well in calling the right numbers at the right time. She’s not one of the best for no reason. After an exciting club season, Long had the task running the show at Fenton HS. A team that had some serious growth from the beginning to end of season.
Now, back in the Legacy gym, I am excited to see this player back running the offense for one of the best teams in the country. While equipped with weapons, Long’s play brings them up another notch for sure!
No. 14 Lexie Stotenbur Lexie Stotenbur 5'9" | S Forest Hills Northern | 2026 State MI – Forest Hills Northern/FaR Out
This is a player that is going to require some serious attention this coming club season. While Lexie Stotenbur Lexie Stotenbur 5'9" | S Forest Hills Northern | 2026 State MI fell under the radar this past club season, she made up for lost time this past fall. Not only was I impressed with how Stotenbur played throughout the season, I was SHOCKED to know she was only a sophomore. It’s a daunting task to take on a team of this caliber and running the offense on your own in your rookie year, but Stotenbur ran the show with ease. So much so, she led them to their first State Championship game since 2004!
Not only will this player be poised for an incredible club season, but she’ll be playing up yet again. Getting the call up to the 17s, Stotenbur will help run the offense of FaR Out’s top 17s team.
No. 20 Allie Davison Allie Davison 5'10" | S Bloomfield Hills Marian | 2026 State MI – Marian/Michigan Elite
Right alongside Keeping, Allie Davision made one heck of a 1-2 punch for Michigan Elite last club season. Talk about “get you a setter that can do it all”? Davison enters the chat. While I knew Davison was an up-and-coming setting talent, I wasn’t aware that she could bring some heat too at the net. After an impressive outing with 15 Mizuno, Davison would take over the reigns at Marian. The, then 3x defending state champion in Division 1. Running the show entirely on her own, Davison proved a lot of people wrong. She stepped up huge for the Mustangs in big moments.
Entering 2024, Davison returns to Michigan Elite. This is a player that can do a lot of different things on the court due to her versatile training. I wouldn’t be shocked to see the 6-2, six rotation route to continue.
No. 29 Makayla Bruman Makayla Bruman 5'10" | S Imlay City | 2026 State MI – Imlay City/Team 27
This is an athlete that may not be such a power player in the club world, however, she could hang with some of the big dogs when given a chance. Makayla Bruman Makayla Bruman 5'10" | S Imlay City | 2026 State MI , a multi-sport star for the Imlay City Trojans, has shown that if she wanted a career in volleyball, she could easily do it. Similarly with Davision, Bruman and Keeping would split time with setting duties at Imlay City. When one set, the other hit, and vice versa. This was a very effective system. However, this fall, due to Keeping being on the sideline, Bruman got to show off what she could do as a six rotation setter. And I was impressed. Even with injuries in their offensive pieces keeping them limited on options, Bruman’s ability to make it work and right the ship was a fun feat to watch.
