We have been watching the 2025 class very closely throughout the entire high school and new club season. A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person and also by watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone’s recruiting profiles. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be listed in the rankings due to their individual performances.
Mikaela Brennan Mikaela Brennan 6'1" | OH JSerra | 2025 State CA [2025] 6-1 Outside (HS: JSerra/Club: TStreet/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please officially welcome Miss Brennan to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 44th best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at JSerra High School and for the TStreet volleyball club program. Mikaela is a lengthy left side attacker who plays six rotations very well. She really knows how to use her long arms very well at the net while blocking. Her swing block adds a few inches as she is able to press well over the net to seal it away. As a blocker, I love how she has a very high volleyball IQ and uses it to understand how to turn in her outside hand in order to redirect the ball inside the court after it rebounds off of her hands. What makes her very tough to match up with at the net is the fact that she contacts the ball at the true peak of her reach. This makes blockers have to time very well to even get a piece of her attack. On serve receive she has a natural soft touch on the ball which keeps it on her team’s side of the court for them to run offense. We are very proud to have her listed on our prestigious State Rankings list. Please help us congratulate her on her achievement of being listed amongst the great players of this state.
Lily Kautai Lily Kautai 5'9" | OH Menlo | 2025 State CA [2025] 5-9 Setter/Right Side (HS: Menlo/Club: Rage Volleyball/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please officially welcome Miss Kautai to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 61st best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Menlo High School and for the Rage volleyball club program. In three years on varsity, she has totaled 1,822 assists, 310 digs, 86 total blocks, and 155 kills. I love that she doubles as an opposite attacker for her squads. This kind of versatility is key to be scouted by recruiters. If her coach needs her to stay in the front row and run a 5-1 offense, it is not a problem due to her natural athleticism and vertical jump. Her right arm slices through the air with lightning speed when she wants to unleash her power. She also knows how to score with some off-speed shots both right over the block and also toward the deep corners. You can only do that with great court vision and that is exactly what Miss Kautai possesses in her arsenal of weapons. When you watch her on the court, you will be able to see that she plays a lot taller than her five foot nine height. Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot in our prestigious State Rankings.
Julia Marinesi Julia Marinesi 5'10" | OH Christian | 2025 State CA [2025] 5-9 Outside (HS: Christian/Club: Coast/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please officially welcome Miss Marinesi to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 62nd best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Christian High School and for the Coast volleyball club program. Julia is a very athletic six rotation baller who can do many things to help her team win matches. As an attacker, she is a throw back to old school volleyball as she is able to score in a variety of ways. Her “Tool” game is strong as she is able to use the block well in order to rack up kills. By using some great court vision, she is able to thread the needle through the block with some awesome power. Not all left sides understand what to do with tight sets, but Julia showcases exactly what to do by swiping off of right side blockers outside hands so easily. Her serve receive is very consistent and passes a lot of balls in system for her setter to run quick tempo sets. We are happy to have her listed amongst Cali’s best players. Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot in our prestigious State Rankings.
