Crowder is still flying under-the-radar in the Houston area, but expect her to continue to improve and become a solid middle as all the tools are there for her to make it happen. She’s very long, athletic and moves very well on the court for a player of her size who’s just starting her career. As with her entire game, her offense is still a work in progress, but it’s already possible to see glimpses of how dominant she could be as she makes a strong approach, makes contact with the ball at a very high point and swings hard when everything falls into place. With good lenght, mobility and a quick reaction time, she could also develop into an excellent blocker.
Cortez was one of the pillars of her high school team Mayde Creek and also plays a big role at club with Katy United. She first emerged as a middle, but has since moved to the pin, where she can be more of an asset on the court. The offense is what stands out the most in her game because Cortez is tall, athletic and can hit at a very good level from the left and the middle, offering good flexibility to her team. She’s also a solid blocker and has grown into a reliable passer too, covering a lot of the court and delivering the ball with confidence.
Ryan left a very good impression in our first Houston Top 250 Expo, almost two weeks ago, and will be back for more on Saturday at Tornados. She works incredibly hard on defense and gets a lot of touches out of the left back position because of her outstanding positioning and her ability to react to tips and deflected shots. Ryan is always focused on the game and has excellent ball control, which makes of her a very solid passer as well.
