One of my favorite pieces to write every time the rankings are updated. Who are the players who shot up the rankings list? It just shows you that opinions can change. After the last rankings these are the players who climbed up in the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='182776' first='Brianna' last='Clay'] middle (Battlefield/[program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last='']) 29 to 15 - Her high school season saw her win player of the year for the Cedar Run District and first team all state for Class 6. The Washington Post recently named her to their All-Met first team. All of this resulted in Battlefield making it to the Class 6 state championship final. They may not have won but it was quite the ride. All the result of the quality middle play of Brianna. Brianna has committed to Fairfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='237667' first='Skyler' last='Riggio'] right side (Briar Woods/) 25 to 16 - Another player who led her Briar Woods team to a quality season. She played right side filling all six rotations, leading the team in kills, while also finishing in the top three in aces, digs, blocks and even assists. If not for Riverbend and Riverside the Falcons may have been fighting for a state championship. Sklyer has committed to Clemson.

[player_tooltip player_id='233010' first='Mickhaila' last='Murray'] outside (Flint Hill/Metro) 27 to 17 - Mickhaila created the offense for Flint Hill, leading them to a state championship. [player_tooltip player_id='180295' first='Ryla' last='Jones'] is perhaps their more dominant player, but it was Micky who led the team in kills. She also led the team in serving aces and was critical in the back row with her digs (second) and serve receive. At a listed 5'11" some may not consider her as outside potential for Division I because of her height but imagine the depth she can provide with her back row play as well as ability to make a difference in the front row. Mickhaila has yet to commit.

[player_tooltip player_id='180285' first='Clara' last='Yu'] setter (Georgetown Day/[program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last='']) 41 to 21 - Clara won the MVP award for the second year in a row, leading Georgetown Day to their second straight championship. To think that at one time she was the third setter for Metro, behind [player_tooltip player_id='180281' first='Erin' last='Debiec'] and [player_tooltip player_id='180283' first='Natalie' last='Nguyen']. She moved to [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] last year and will be setting for them again this year in her final season of travel ball. The Post named Clara to the second team All-Met. She has committed to Columbia.

[player_tooltip player_id='223897' first='Amelia' last='Tomlinson'] libero (Western Albermarle) 31 to 24 - Amelia played libero for the Warriors early in the season. When they needed more offense from the outside she transformed into a hitter. Seems like the best liberos in travel ball are the top outside hitters in high school. The Warriors fell short of making it to the state playoffs, losing to Rustburg in the Class 3c Regionals in the first round. Amelia has committed to Liberty.

[player_tooltip player_id='181240' first='Natalie' last='Carlin'] libero (Riverside/[program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last='']) 36 to 28 - Natalie earned player of the year honors in the Potomac District leading Riverside to an undefeated season until the state championship game. Very unusual for a libero to win player of the year honors, though [player_tooltip player_id='248630' first='Kayla' last='Foley'] won player of the year for Class 5 all state. Natalie also earned an honorable mention spot on the Post All Met team. The All Met team named no liberos to their first and second team ([player_tooltip player_id='180300' first='Mailinh' last='Godschall'] was an outside hitter for Centenial). Like her [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] teammate [player_tooltip player_id='182776' first='Brianna' last='Clay'], Natalie has committed to Fairfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='183606' first='Camille' last='Pomeroy'] middle (Madison/[program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last='']) 59 to 34 -Camille earned a spot of the first team for the Concorde District. Camille led Madison to the semi-finals of the Class 6 State championship, where they lost to Battlefield. The Warhawks were the only team to beat Class 6 state champion Langley and they did that three times. Camille was the one steady presence in the middle. Her ability to hit the quicks opened up the offense for the outsides. At 6'2" she also provides an impenetrable wall in the front row. Camille has yet to commit.

[player_tooltip player_id='352786' first='Cassandra' last='Bradley'] libero (Richard Montgomery/MVSA) 46 to 35 - Casey keeps rising up my rankings list. She earned first team honors for Montgomery County, providing the steady passing and stellar defense to lead Richard Montgomery to their first Maryland state championship. She also got an honorable mention for the All Met team put together by the Washington Post. A great teammate to have on the court. Casey has yet to commit.

[player_tooltip player_id='233000' first='Maura' last='Fay'] outside (Woodson/MOJO) 50 to 37 - Woodson lost in the first round of the state championship to Colonial Forge in five. Maura led the team with 17 kills and 10 aces in the match. She was also the Cavaliers top hitter for kills during the season. Class 6 rewarded her efforts by naming her to their all state first team. She also made the Post All Met second team. A lot of honors came her way for her last high school season. At 6'1" she brings length to the outside. Maura has yet to commit.

[player_tooltip player_id='209791' first='Grace' last='Tucker'] outside (Rock Ridge) 63 to 42 - Grace won Dulles player of the year honors and class 4c region player of the year honors. She also got an honorable mention for the Post All Met team. At 5'9" she does not bring a lot of height to the outside position. What she brings to the court is a positive attitude. Leading her team in kills came despite her height. She also finished with a .234 hitting percentage. Grace plays all six rotations, brings a tough serve to the court and most important of all is a great teammate. Grace has yet to commit.

[player_tooltip player_id='244159' first='Jaylyn' last='Simon'] setter (Holy Cross) 66 to 53 - Jaylyn set Holy Cross to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) state championship. The team focused on using her in a 5/1 once the playoffs began. The decision paid off with the Tartans first championship after six years. At 5'9" she brings enough vertical that she can provide some offense in the front row. She finished fifth on the team in kills. Jaelyn has committed to Iona.

[player_tooltip player_id='246935' first='Avery' last='Hanly'] outside (Kellam/Beach Elite) 72 to 54 - Avery led the Knights in kills from the outside. She also played all six rotations, finishing second on the team in kills. Her serving was also lethal as she led the team in aces. All this production got Kellam to the Class D state championship where they ultimately lost in the semi-finals to the evetual state champions First Colonial. Avery has committed to Christopher Newport.

[player_tooltip player_id='348735' first='Audrey' last='Monlux'] setter (Georgetown Visitation) 89 to 74 - From what I understand Georgetown Visitation did not qualify for the DC State championship because they did not play enough matches. At 5'10 Audry brings some good height to the setting position. She earned a spot on the Independent School Leagues (ISL) first team setting a 5/1 for the Prep Cubs. She played some good defense at her setting position, finishing third on the team in digs. Her serving also put her third on the team in aces. Interesting to note that many of her assists went to her twin sister, middle [player_tooltip player_id='348696' first='Julia' last='Monlux']. Audry has yet to commit.

[player_tooltip player_id='181233' first='Aaliyah' last='Howell'] outside (Georgetown Day/Virginia Elite) 88 to 80 - Georgetown Day won the DC state championship. Aaliyah contributed to that championship with her six rotation play, finishing third in kills, third in digs and one of the main players used in serve receive. Her 5'9" height may make her small for the front row but her approach jump reaches 9'6". Aaliyah has yet to commit.
