Continue ReadingThere is always a little movement within our rankings; this time, it’s no different with this update of our class of 2025. The biggest movement was Logan Parks Logan Parks 5'11" | S Blue Valley North | 2025 State #8 Nation KS moving to the top spot from the third. This last year has been busy for Parks, who competed internationally with Team USA. She also helped lead her team to a state runner-up in Kansas’s top class. She is among the top college prospects in the country to yet to make a decision. Her junior year stat line included 444 kills and 361 assists. Reese Messer Reese Messer 5'11" | S St. James | 2025 State #6 Nation KS slides down one spot to number two. She had another solid year and helped her team return to the state tournament. She pledged her future to USC since the last ranking. The junior setter totaled 872 assists.
We move from setters to hitters with our third and fourth spots. Iowa State commit Alea Goolsby Alea Goolsby 5'11" | OH St. Thomas Aquinas | 2025 State #36 Nation KS from St. Thomas Aquinas was a set away from repeating as a state champion. The left pin, who flourishes with the 2-ball down the middle had 395 kills and over 200 digs in her third year of high school ball. Jillian Gregory Jillian Gregory 6'0" | OH Maize South | 2025 State #66 Nation KS holds down the fourth spot, same as the previous ranking. The Maize South product continues to shine in southern Kansas. Heading to Oregon State after her prep days, she ended the year with 386 kills.
We got back to the talented class of setters as Lily Wedman Lily Wedman 5'8" | S Blue Valley West | 2025 State KS entered the chat at five. After missing some games early, she bounced back to show why she is one of the top setters in the state in leading Blue Valley West to another state tournament. The Tulane pledge is closing in on 3,000 assists in her career. Moving up in the rankings after capturing a state title is Maegan Mills Maegan Mills 6'0" | OH Seaman | 2025 State KS of Topeka Seaman. She will be heading to Tulsa after her prep playing days but left a mark on the state in her junior year with 418 kills from the outside.
4A State Champion and Player of the Year Lauren Lopez Lauren Lopez 5'10" | OH Bishop Miege | 2025 State KS remains steady in the top ten at number seven. The outside hitter stands at 5’10” and is a player who can score in the right program. I could see her making noise at a mid-major to top-division two programs after having over 700 kills in the last two years. After Lopez, we find Jenna McClure Jenna McClure 5'8" | OH Blue Valley North | 2025 State KS , another talented pin in the rankings. She is another undersized pin who can fill up the stat sheet. One thing we’ve learned over the years is that size is helpful but not a requirement from the outside. She was consistent this year almost matching her numbers from the previous year.
Rounding out our top ten is state champion Saida Jacobs Saida Jacobs 6'1" | MB Mill Valley | 2025 State KS from Mill Valley and Brookelyn Hatton Brookelyn Hatton 5'4" | DS/L Blue Valley West | 2025 State KS of Blue Valley West. Jacobs held down the middle and her play elevated in her junior season seeing her kill numbers take a big jump. Hatton continues to show why she is one of the top littles in the state. The last two years she’s averaged close to ten digs and receptions per match. Her stats don’t tell the whole story as she is a leader on the court and makes tough plays look easy. She will play her college ball at Arizona.
