With close to 40 prospects on display, there were a lot of good players to evaluate.
Here’s the first part of our 2026 player evaluations.
Ella Azbell Ella Azbell 5'9" | OH Holly | 2026 State MI , OH Holly/Arsenal
Azbell had good explosiveness in what she was doing. Obviously, that applies to her hitting, but it also applied to her defensive ability. She was strong in her blocking effort, but she could also get to a spot quickly to make a nice dig.
Amina Baszile Amina Baszile 5'7" | DS/L Renaissance | 2026 State MI , OH Renaissance/Michigan Elite
Baszile started a little quiet and looked a little intimidated, but started to come out of her shell as the expo went on. When she did that, she showed good aggression in all phases. There’s good power in her swings and her serve, she just has to tap into that right away.
Clare Beazley Clare Beazley 6'0" | MB Saline | 2026 State MI , MH Saline/Michigan Elite
Beazley has a lot of promise as a 6-foot middle. She plays in a good program for developing middles at Saline and it shows with her consistency in her swings. Beazley had a good tempo developed with her setters and was able to high-point the ball frequently.
Mckenna Boykin Mckenna Boykin 5'8" | MB Portland | 2026 State MI , MH Portland/MVA
Boykin has shown improvement since we last saw her. Her finishing ability has gotten better and she’s doing a good job of attacking different angles and challenging defenders. As a middle, Boykin actually shows a lot of good all-around skills that could come in handy as she continues to develop.
Giselle Burlingame Giselle Burlingame 5'2" | DS/L Northville | 2026 State MI , DS/L Northville/L2
Burlingame was definitely a game changer when it came to her defensive play. She was one of the best liberos at the event and you can see her confidence in her play. Burlingame stays very composed and smoothly looks the ball into her arms for a clean pass. She’s also very vocal in the back row and in control.
Lexi Cummer Lexi Cummer 5'4" | S Chelsea | 2026 MI , S Chelsea/HVVC
Cummer did a good job of seeing the whole court. She had active eyes and that led to a lot of good, comfortable sets to her hitters that they were able to finish. Cummer was steady and did a lot of positive things in a crowded setter field.
Taylor Dahms Taylor Dahms 6'3" | MB Saline | 2026 State MI , MH Saline/L2
Dahms is a towering 6’3” middle that comes from the Saline program as well, which gets a lot of good play out of its middles. Dahms definitely plays long at the net and is very imposing for other hitters. Offensively, she did a great job of finding the sweet spot with her setters and putting the ball down with a lot of velocity.
Allie Davison Allie Davison 5'10" | S Bloomfield Hills Marian | 2026 State MI , S Marian/Michigan Elite
Davison is a very experience setter in the Class of 2026. The past fall playing at Marian has added a lot to her game, mostly in her confidence and comfort on the floor. Davison looks in complete control and has no questions in her ability to make a difficult set and to get the best swings out of her hitters. She’s well on her way to being a top setting prospect.
Laurin Edwards Laurin Edwards 5'8" | OH Cass Tech | 2026 MI , OH Cass Tech/Michigan Elite
Edwards was a prospect who did a lot of positive things in her defensive play. She really locked in during serve receive and passing drills and her focus led her to making a lot of clean contact. Offensively, she’s got good lift off the floor and can bring the hammer.
Skyye Frailey Skyye Frailey 5'10" | OH Athens, Troy Michigan | 2026 State MI , OH Troy Athens/L2
Frailey was another one of our game changers for the event. She had a really strong showing as she’s long and athletic, but plays a focused and in-control game. Frailey was finishing consistently from the front and back row, displaying a variety of shots. She was very vocal and called for the ball often, as she wanted to step up in pressure spots.
