We include four liberos who impressed and one setter who showed out. We loved the enthusiasm of the 2027 class, and are looking forward to our initial 2027 rankings in Washington!
The Lakeside freshman plays with a relaxed confidence, and her platform and passing are incredibly sound. She is technical in her approach to the game and coaches liked the way she changed her angles effortlessly to drop dimes to her setter. Gao is a high-level defender and beach volleyball athlete, expect her to be a difference-maker on defense.
Highlights
Hoffer jumped out with her ability and willingness to go after every ball and make a save or get a touch. The 2027 from Maysville Getchell earned her Top Performer nod with coaches noting her sneaky foot speed and ability to read hitters and setters dropping tips and dumps into the middle of the court. Hoffer may have been under the radar coming into the Expo, but she left a definite impression by the time it ended!
Highlights
Malley had the look of an excellent two-way setter, playing defense first then confidently finding her attackers in good matchups. The Bishop Blanchet freshman played with an excellent connection and rapport with her hitters, soliciting and giving feedback that impressed the Expo coaches.
