This year’s L2 171 squad has a lot of potential. They also have a lot of size.
It certainly seems like L2 will be a squad making some big victories over the next few months.

Dynamic setter
Last year Chloe Giehtbrock Chloe Giehtbrock 6'2" | S Marian | 2025 State MI committed herself to becoming a setter and she did so while planting her flag in the L2 program.
It was a good 2023 club year for Giehtbrock, who earned herself a commitment to Arizona for college.
This fall, Giehtbrock had to sit out the prep season due to transferring to Marian.
The 6’2” setter is now fresh and ready to go for the 2024 club season with L2 171.
She’s got the size and athleticism you look for in a setter at the D1 college level. Now she’s adding to her game and showing a lot more fluidity in her play. Her decision-making is quicker and more concise.
A lot of size in the middle
This L2 squad really should feel good about its middles, because they have three that can all take over a match and change momentum.
Grace Cooney Grace Cooney 6'0" | MB Hartland | 2025 State MI is a 6-footer from Hartland that is committed to Oakland. She is a big reason the Eagles were able to end a lengthy district championship drought. She hit .346 on the season and was tied for the team lead in kills during the prep season.
Addison Ashley Addison Ashley 6'1" | MB Saline | 2025 State MI is a 6’1” middle from the Saline program that came on strong late for the Hornets against some top competition. She’s definitely got the quickness and power to be a game-changer.
Isabelle Henry Isabelle Henry 6'1" | MB Clarkston | 2025 State MI was a key piece to Clarkston’s run to the D1 semifinals. The 6’1” junior finished the season with a .361 hitting percentage and was dialed in over the final month of play. Her instincts are already at a high level.
These three middles give L2 a lot of imposing size to work with offensive and defensively.
Outside power
To compliment the size at middle and setter, L2 171 also has some explosive outsides to work with in Tara Creekmore Tara Creekmore 6'0" | OH Plymouth | 2025 State MI , Bella Colon Bella Colon 5'9" | OH Troy | 2025 State MI and Makayla Credit Makayla Credit 5'8" | OH South Lyon East | 2025 State MI .
Creekmore is a 6-footer from the Plymouth program that adds even more size to this already impressive roster. Creekmore has polished her defensive play as well and is turning into a solid all-around player.
Colon comes from the Troy program. She’s a force in all phases of the game and has challenged herself against a lot of top hitters in order to get better.
Credit comes from the South Lyon East program. At 5’8”, Credit has spent time playing the middle as well, but was more than able to hold her own. She’s very explosive off the floor and brings a lot of arm power. As she develops her consistency, Credit is going to shine through.
Defensive workhorses
L2 is also going to be a team that won’t shy away from defensive hustle.
This squad has three primary DS options that can also fly to the ball and are going to give everything they have to get a dig.
Morgan Lozzi, Cecilia Regoli and Kylie Kennedy Kylie Kennedy 5'5" | DS/L Lakeland | 2025 State MI make up this defense and L2 can turn to any of them for a big dig.
All come from strong defensive programs as well. Lozzi comes from Clarkston, Regoli comes from Novi and Kennedy from Lakeland.
Each has their own strengths, but all also bring a solid serve to the court that can swing momentum.
Early results
The L2 program competed in the Nike Classic to open the year two weeks ago.
While L2 suffered some close closes early, including one to Dead Frog 17 Black, the team rallied to win four of five matches midway through the weekend. That included a win over Unified 17-1 and a nice three-set victory over AVC CLE 17 Red.
In the end, L2 came in 11th place with a loss in the gold bracket to NKYVC 17-1 Tsunami.
L2 plays against this upcoming weekend in the Northen Lights Qualifier. It will be interesting to see the improvement they show in two weeks. It could be a sign of the trajectory of this squad.
