Athletes arriving in the rankings for the first time have done the hard work to improve their skill and athleticism, earn increased playing time, and in some cases have just continued to grow longer and stronger in general, here is a look at several new to the rankings players for this 2026 update.
A first team all-league selection for Skyview, Shawgo is powerful attacking from both pins and has a deft touch as a passer patrolling the middle back on defense. She makes her first entry into the rankings at #31 overall, at 5’10 she has the length and strong hands to cause problems as a blocker. Shawgo will play her 2024 club season for Aspire NW 16 Empire, who kick off a big tournament schedule with the Matt Hartner Memorial in Eugen next weekend.
Highlights
Jones has grown to 6-feet and the Wenatchee Panther sophomore was a dynamic force in the middle during the teams championship season. She is quick off her feet attacking on the 1 or the 31 set, and has the moxie to move the ball around the block to score. Jones checks in as the #15 middle in the 2026 rankings update, and she will suit up for Cru Max Performance during the club season.
Dumontet is a high volleyball IQ setter, and she finds her way into the rankings update as the # 39 overall player and #7 setter. A first team SPSL 2A selection, Dumontet was part of a terrific Enumclaw Hornet squad that made a run to the state tournament, her ability to identify matchups that lead to favorable opportunities were a major part of the team’s success. She is strong moving the ball to either pin and shows excellent effort defensively.
Highlights
The Meadowdale standout plays well above the net utilizing a tremendous vertical to even the playing field against taller opponents. A six-rotation outside, Jenkins is solid defensively and moves well when chasing down shots to the corner or charging in to cover the tip. Her serve is a dangerous part of her game, she was able to record 7 and 9 aces in separate matches this season. Jenkins is the #99 player overall in her initial entry to the 2026 rankings.
Highlights
Niewiadomski is an excellent six-rotation outside, with a high level of skill all around and a live arm. She was tabbed as a first-team all-league selection for Sehome in the Northwest League, and the sophomore operated at a high level against experienced, older players on a night in and night out basis. The 5’8 Niewadomski works exceptionally hard and looks to be in line for a big breakout 2024 club season.
Highlights
Galbreath is a dual threat as an attacker and setter, and she helped lead her Lind-Ritzville-Sprague squad deep into the 2B championships. The sophomore shared Co-League MVP honors and secured a 1st team all-state nod after the Broncos finished second to a talented Manson team in the championship. Galbreath is a coaches kid and multi-sport athlete with a dynamic hoops game, she posted match totals approaching 20 kills and 20 assists multiple times during her 2023 campaign. She enters the rankings as the #71 ranked player overall.
