The 6’0 middle also earned an impressive career efficiency of .340 over four varsity seasons. Waynar and her teammates open as the 5th overall seed in this division.

She’s an active middle in transition with the ability to swing through quick options while her work overhead off of one foot is where she looks most comfortable and effective.

Just shy of 250 total kills in her senior year for Newark, Martinez averaged 3.8 k/s this past fall helping lead her team to a 19-5 overall record. She is an aggressive attacker with a high elbow swing that earned double-figure kills in nearly every match over the high school season. With some good experience already under their belt this club season, this GCVC squad competed at the Windy City Qualifier before earning the title in the 18U division at the recent OVR Girls WinterFest with an undefeated record.
Riley Duermit – NKYVC
Duermit is a 5’8 DS/L prospect from Turpin that finished top-10 defensively in the tough ECC conference with over 300 digs on the season. Turpin finished 2nd in league play as Duermit was a key factor in helping to frustrate opposing offenses while creating good opportunities for the Spartans to earn points themselves. She has good quickness and reacts well in pursuit of the ball through her first step with the ability to defend with good range.

The 5’11 pin earned over 450 kills in her recent two seasons for Brecksville-Broadview Heights. She concluded her varsity career with a 3.1 k/s average while picking up over nine digs per match. She maximizes her athleticism well when attacking as she can generate good arm speed at the top of her jump to develop good power. Shugert can score in a variety of ways including at both pins, out of the back row, and with good arm control to move the ball around.
