Here are some teams and players who definitely are turning heads due to their play. This series will highlight some players who we have seen in person and we are adding to our list to watch this season.
Drive Nation 17 Red
Setter Hannah Beauford Hannah Beauford 5'11" | S Prosper | 2025 State #99 Nation TX is the general of this awesome army of ballers. She is the engine that makes this team function well. I am not sure if there is another setter in her age group who plays with more fire and energy. She has plenty of weapons in her offensive arsenal. Let’s start with the outsides. Kendall Timme Kendall Timme 6'2" | OH JJ Pearce | 2025 TX is a big time point scorer with enormous potential to go on long runs without being stopped. She can fly high above the net and rip balls wherever she wants to. Middle Kierstyn Carlton provides a very big target when she jumps for quick attacks. I love how fast her whip of an arm swing operates with. Libero Keelea Alexander is smooth with it in the back row. This team of heavy hitters can swing away with confidence knowing that she is behind them to clean up any mess. She has speed and a high volleyball IQ to match up with anyone. Evelyn Macie Potter Macie Potter 5'11" | RS McKinney | 2026 State TX can play all the way around if needed in the opposite position. She has a cannon for an arm and scores at a very high clip on the right side. Olivia Cohee Olivia Cohee 6'1" | OH McKinney | 2025 State TX provides this team with ample versatility. She can truly do it all on the court front row or back row. I watched her patrol the back row and give the team great passes out of middle back in the match I was present for. This team has some more studs that we will discuss very soon in another article. They are primed and ready for any match up that will come their way in every tourney.
Texas Advantage Volleyball 17 Black Haroun
This team is made up of some players who have tons of potential. I love how smooth setter Kiana Babaei Kiana Babaei 5'7" | S Frisco Memorial | 2025 State TX is with the ball in her hands. She has a phenomenal jump set that volleyball purists will love. Her play on the court since last year has made all of us watch a little closer and move her into our State Rankings list. Libero Sophie Bridges Sophie Bridges 5'8" | DS/L Prosper | 2025 State TX is as tough as they come and can pass anything coming her way. She has proven herself over and over to be in the conversation of liberos to watch. Outside hitters Jayla Jackson Jayla Jackson 5'9" | OH Prosper | 2026 State TX and Karli Jordan Karli Jordan 5'9" | OH Frisco | 2025 State TX are a little undersized but can sky with anyone above the net. They have power for days due to their lightning quick arm swing. Middle De’andrea plays well above the net and has a lot of potential to be on our watch list. I also really enjoyed watching Ryleigh Davis Ryleigh Davis 5'10" DeSoto | 2025 TX swing on the right side. She has a ton of power in her right arm when attacking. What I love about her is that she is a top tier setter also who can deliver the rock with precision. Outside Emma Sorenson showed very well on the left side in the match that I watched. She is long and uses some great court vision to score in a variety of ways. I think it will take a bit of time for this team to gel, but they have so much potential to give opponents a ton of problems on the volleyball court.
