The Nike Classic: Super Standouts 18’s

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The weather was cold but the talent was heating up this past weekend at The Nike Classic in Columbus, Ohio. Players from all over came to get their club season started. We followed the teams from Ohio and were not disappointed. There were a lot of long rallies and big swings to see. The talent was very impressive for so early in the season. Fast from pin to pin, she able to take massive swings which makes her an asset on both sides of the ball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jessica Walkenhorst </strong>- <em>OPVC 18 Gill / RS</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Power and speed, Walkenhorst is a go-to arm for this OPVC team. She is able to elevate and hit the ball with a super high contact point. She is fast off the net in transition and even faster of the floor to put up a wall for the defense. She is quick and smart, knowing where to put the ball and when to dump. A great arm in the front row as well, taking swings and helping out at the net with blocking. With a variety of shots and a strong blocking presence, she is a nightmare for the opposition. She has fun on the court and plays with confidence. Quick feet, allowing her to cover a massive amount of the court, she keeps the back row running like a well oiled machine.
