The 15’s team received a shout out recently for their finish in Vegas; a deeper dive is well-deserved for this group of talented freshman players. Based in the Tri-Cities, the team has one player from Hermiston, Oregon and we make sure to include everyone. The squad is 9 strong, and we cover each player below. Congratulations on the victory!
Donaldson is a 5’11 MB from Kamiakin who is quick off her feet and brings great energy for her team. She connected with setter Stem on fast tempo sets for emphatic kills before the blockers could close. The 2027 prospect has nice vision as an attacker- she places tips to empty spots on the floor- leaving defenders watching as the ball hits the floor.
Bacon is an active blocker, and she will celebrate a stuff block with enthusiasm firing up her team. Bacon capped off a big second set run of points against Temecula with a one-on-one block that had her team buzzing. The 2027 from Hermiston can get rolling from the service line too, a bonus for Shockwave from their middle blocker. Bacon is a willing defender in the back row, she hung tough against big swings and was willing to get on the ground to make a play.
Stemp is very comfortable throwing accurate back sets to her right sides, and has the foot speed to cover ground and make sure the team has a chance to score. Running Mia Young Mia Young 5’8″ | RS Kamiakin | 2027 State WA as an opposite gives Stemp another attacking option out of the 5-1 and Young has the skill to take a tough swing from behind the 10-foot line. The setter from Kennewick High School kept the team running smoothly and handled her business defensively prior to running down the second ball.

Cromer is a 2027 from Pasco who plays as a back row DS for Shockwave. She is an attacker in school ball though, and that showed up at times for her squad as she effectively sent over tough free balls that put pressure on opposing teams. She gives the team options in both serve receive and defensively, and she has the versatility to play multiple positions.
The Kamiakin freshman is willing to launch herself across the floor in pursuit of the ball, and has a terrific sense of tempo when she is the first contact. She delivered clutch serve receive chances in the semi-finals against Temecula Vipers, keeping calm and cool in a back and forth 3rd set. Dolven will be in the mix of a young but talented backline for the Braves during school ball next season.
Highlights
Hammond has a powerful arm, but she is also a scorer, breaking out soft tips and a chip that caught defenders flat-footed. She hit several rockets on set plays from the right side, giving opponents a different look when the team was struggling to score. Another Kamiakin Brave, Hammond was a critical part of the teams win, giving setter Stemp a consistent outlet on the left side when the play pushed to that side. Hammond and fellow OH Bilodeau both have strong hands, attackers have a tough time rattling kills through their blocks.
Highlights
The 5’11” OH from Kamiakin has a big arm swing, and she was working it down the line to score on Day 3 of the tournament. Bilodeau rotates out in serve receive, but she played excellent off ball defense running through tip attempts and staying alert from balls off the block. Bilodeau gets off the net in transition with urgency and sound footwork, that is a terrific trait to carry forward for a young player.
Young has a powerful lefty swing from the opposite position, and is skilled enough to play six-rotations and hold up in serve receive. That skill level carries over to her accurate serve that kept Shockwave opponents out of system, and her defensive chops in the backrow. She reads hitters effectively and moves into the right spots to cover the tip or the line. Young also has a variety of shots she will use, including a toss to the corner and an effective roll to the middle. She was a difference maker for Shockwave, delivering timely blocks and making winning plays to power the team forward.
Highlights
Raines passed dimes for Shockwave on the final day of competition, and she has an excellent sense of when a serve or swing is going long. She showed some buttery hands setting to the pin, especially working with her right sides for great out of system swings. Raines is a hustler, willing to work extremely hard to get her hands on each and every ball she can- she took home the Candis Carter Award at the 2023 Emerald City Classic as the top defender in the 14’s Division.
