Power League Day 1 play for the 17U Division was played on February 3 in Lawrence.

The best match I scouted was a tight three-set win by Shockwave 17-1 over [program_tooltip program_id='428890' first='Adidas' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last='']'] 17-2. Both teams seemed evenly matched and had a feel of East vs West flair to it.

Here is the third of multiple reports from the club action this weekend. This one features three prospects from each of the two teams who were playing in their first match of the day.

[player_tooltip player_id='493491' first='Tori' last='Buss'], 5'9”, OH/DS, Wichita North, '25 (Shockwave 17-1)

So I am familiar with many of the Shockwave players on this team, but this was the first time I specifically watched Buss closely. She did not disappoint me and played with a frenzied pace. She collected six kills, 11 serve receptions, and five digs. She has a nice serve and finished with one ace in the win. She is athletic and can play six rotations. I feel like she could be a star in the making for an NAIA program.

[player_tooltip player_id='173400' first='Chloe' last='Traffas'], 5'3”, DS/L, Attica, '25 (Shockwave 17-1)

I featured Traffas in a preview of the Power League event and she exceeded my expectations. She finished with a double-double in the Shockwave's victory with 14 digs and 12 serve receptions. Until I see someone better I consider her the top libero in the Kansas Class of 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='499217' first='Harlee' last='Randall'], 6'0”, MH, Flint Hills, '25 (Shockwave 17-1)

Randall is an underrated prospect out of Flint Hills High School. She is a silent attacker who can hurt opponents from the middle of the floor. She has big ups and finished with six kills and one block in the win for Shockwave. I am not sure I will catch her next fall, but I would like to see if she dominates opponents in the Class 1A DI division. It is hard to imagine that she doesn't.

[player_tooltip player_id='493530' first='Taylor' last='Foxworthy'], 5'11”, OH, Olathe Northwest, '25 ([program_tooltip program_id='428890' first='Adidas' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last='']'] 17-2)

It was my first opportunity to scout Foxworthy and I was impressed with her game. She can play six rotations and can contribute both defensively and as an attacker. She finished with three kills, nine serve receptions, and two digs. She has a physical frame and I think she can get stronger.

Leah Russell, 5'8”, OH, Olathe West, '25 ([program_tooltip program_id='428890' first='Adidas' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last='']'] 17-2)

Russell caught me a bit off guard. She is not all that tall and she's not an elite jumper, but she flat out plays the game. She finished the match with five kills and six digs. Russell is a gritty player and just does what it takes to compete. Her ceiling is probably at the Division II level.

[player_tooltip player_id='387894' first='Hanna' last='Lee Willeford'], 5'10”, RS, Blue Valley West, '25 ([program_tooltip program_id='428890' first='Adidas' last='[program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last='']'] 17-2)

Willeford is a physical front-row player. She recorded six kills and one block in the three-set loss to Shockwave. She has a big vertical and a nice reach. I'd like to catch this entire [program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] squad play at least one more time this club season.
