In our final preview of the 16s division at Hoosier Regionals this weekend, we mention four teams with aspirations of claiming one of a possible three bids to GJNCs in Las Vegas this summer. Here they are, in alphabetical order according to team, each having a pair of athletes that will be key in their own squad's success.

With some successful runs in a few tournaments I've seen them play in, the 3s team plays more like a 2s team in almost every aspect of the game. [player_tooltip player_id='487350' first='Emmerson' last='Gott'] ('26, 6-0 MB, Western Boone) is a long and lean middle that prides herself on her defensive talents. Her length IS her strength, and with a consistent set, can hit any angle in front of the setter. I also like what [player_tooltip player_id='402576' first='Eliana' last='Tucker'] ('26, 5-10 RS, Plainfield) can bring to the table. Her broad shoulders and quick arm swing makes me think she can play either pin. I'd like to see a little more floor defense from her to see what her capabilities are there, but for now, her focus on her offense propels this team's attack.

Although undersized for a 16s team, this squad has multiple kids that can play multiple positions. [player_tooltip player_id='511374' first='Grace' last='Craig'] ('26, 5-7 MB/RS, North Judson-San Pierre) is a two-sport stud that uses her basketball skills well when playing middle. Realistically, Grace should be on a pin at the next level, where things will slow down for her and make not only her offense but her net defense better. [player_tooltip player_id='272380' first='Aubrey' last='Hreha'] ('26, 5-8 RS, Washington Township) is a banger that can hit from both pins, despite being left-handed. She's quick to the ball, has a whip of an arm swing, and is explosive enough to beat blocks with her springy nature.

This upstart of a program is slowly but surely earning their stripes on the club scene. Lots of chatting with their director as well as others in-the-know in north central Indiana give a lot of respect to what these girls have done so far this club season. [player_tooltip player_id='512939' first='Callie' last='Bruder'] ('26, 5-9 MB/RS, Lebanon) has the athleticism to play middle, but will be best suited to playing right side at the next level. Her strong upper body should take her far in both positions while still playing club, though. [player_tooltip player_id='512941' first='Paige' last='Jones'] ('27, 5-7 Pin, Lebanon) is another from Lebanon that can play multiple positions for this roster, but clearly she's a pin attacker through and through. Most likely a left side at the next level, her all-around game is more advanced than others at her size and graduating class.

This 2s team from TI has a couple of south-siders that I've known for a couple of years now. [player_tooltip player_id='504728' first='Josey' last='Whitehead'] ('26, 5-10 OH, Center Grove) is strong, physical, and can terminate from the left with the heavy ball that she hits. A high knowledge of the game allows her to not just hit with pace, but with intelligence as well. [player_tooltip player_id='366446' first='Hanna' last='Stewart'] ('26, 5-4 DS/L, Franklin Community) anticipates well, is reliable in serve receive, and has active feet on defense. I've seen a ton of her play in the left back position, but I'm sure she can play all three back row spots simply because of her high volleyball IQ.
