Here are some teams and players who definitely are turning heads due to their play. This series will highlight some players who we have seen in person and we are adding to our list to watch this season.
Oklahoma Peak Performance 16-1 Elite
In watching the Redlands Rendezvous tournament online, I was blown away by this squad. Not only did they win the tournament in the Open division undefeated, but they were playing against 17’s and 18’s teams all weekend. Only one match went to three sets on their way to the title. Setter Olivia Branum Olivia Branum 5'11" | S Westmoore | 2026 OK is the driver of this high-octane well-oiled machine. She has the prototypical frame that all college coaches will be drooling after. This dynamo has both size and power to push the ball to any location that she wants to with amazing pace. Her power is also seen from the service line as she is stifling to opposing serve receivers. Middle Tyra McKinnie Tyra McKinnie 6'0" | MB Glenpool | 2026 OK is the great wall at the net blocking or slowing down everything that comes her way. She does such a great job of keeping her hands high at the net while waiting for the attacker to jump. This minimizes the amount of time it takes for her to press over the net. Presley Schrader Presley Schrader 5'11" | OH Community Christian | 2026 OK and Skylar Brady Skylar Brady MB Edmond North | 2026 OK are two pins who can bring the heat. They both play very well above the net and score in bunches. Libero Rachel Megna Rachel Megna 5'6" | DS/L OCS | 2026 OK handles the back row with amazing court vision and reaction time. She has a solid jump float serve that she is very accurate with. The second setter in this awesome 6-2 offense is Mayli Whetter and this young lady is extremely active with her footwork. She is always ready to play defense out of the right back zone also. I like how she uses right side Kelsi Wilson Kelsi Wilson OH Deer Creek | 2026 OK to spread the offense out. This team is poised to have an amazing season as they showed by winning the 17/18 Open division of Redlands. We will be writing about their entire roster again so stay tuned.
Oklahoma Charge 17 UA
Madison Barnes Madison Barnes 5'9" | S Choctaw | 2025 State OK and Jasmine Liongco Jasmine Liongco 5'3" | S Yukon | 2025 State OK run a solid 6-2 offense with some bangers on the pins. They are able to move the ball around well and give everyone a chance to score by putting the ball in a perfect place. Pins Addison Worley Addison Worley 5'7" | OH Moore | 2025 State OK and Gia McGrew Gia McGrew 6'1" | MB Mt. St. Mary | 2025 State OK are two dynamic point scorers that can light up the scoreboard in a hurry. Gia is a very powerful attacker who punishes the ball with her thunderous swings. She plays with a lot of fire and it always helps give her team some energy. Miss Worley is a very springy jumper who can score from the front row or back row when needed. She has a lot of confidence when she plays and it is infectious to her teammates. Taylor Vann is the real deal in the back row for this squad. She plays the libero position like it was supposed to be played…with a lot of heart and effort. I love that she understands the game and is always ready to set the second ball during out of system plays. Anna Rice Anna Rice 6'3" | RS Edmond Santa Fe | 2025 State OK is a very lengthy pin who many have their eyes on. Her offensive game is vast as she can score from either side of the court. Now that she is playing more all the way around this season, her game will definitely go to the next level. She is one of the best players to come out of the Oklahoma area in her grad class. This whole team has players who deserve some looks from college coaches and we will be covering them again soon.
