I scouted two of the KS Networks 17-1 games. The squad is also known as Showtime and won two matches against Pohaku 17-1 and the Topeka Saints 17-1.
Here is the first of multiple reports from the club action and this one features four players who stood out for the Showtime squad.
Elle Davis, 5’11”, OH/DS, Trinity Academy, ’25
I featured Davis in a preview of the Power League play and she did not disappoint in the two matches I scouted. Davis is a well-rounded player who is athletic. In the first match of the day, Davis finished with nine serve receptions, three digs, and three aces in the win over Pohaku. Then in the team’s second contest, she stepped up her attack game with five kills while adding three serve receptions, one dig, and one block. I enjoy her enthusiasm for the game and project her as a small Division I program or Division II prospect. Davis has been in communication with two small conference Division I schools.
Delainee Dexter Delainee Dexter 5'9" | S Eisenhower | 2025 State KS , 5’7”, S/RS, Eisenhower, ‘25
Dexter was very impressive on Saturday. She can set and hit making her a solid six-rotation college prospect. The lefty is a bit on the short side for a hitter, but she could jump up on top of a round hay bail. In the win over Pohaku, she collected seven assists, two kills, and four digs. In the victory over the Saints, she racked up six assists, two kills, and one dig. She makes the ball cry and I would say her ceiling is the Division II level, but I could see her as an all-conference setter for an NAIA or JUCO program.
Lauren Heinz Lauren Heinz 5'7" | S Andover | 2025 State KS , 5’7”, S, Andover, ‘25
Heinz is a solid setter who has a wicked serve. She puts some mustard on the ball when she serves which resulted in a total of six aces in the two scouted contests. She also registered a total of 13 assists in the two Power League victories. She is quick and communicates well with her attackers. She shared setting duties with Dexter and the two are solid compliments to each other. I feel like Dexter is quicker and a little more polished but Heinz might be the better pure setter.
Olivia Nicoli Olivia Nicoli 5'10" | OH Bishop Carroll | 2025 State KS , 5’10”, OH/DS, Bishop Carroll, ‘25
Nicoli had two solid matches, but he shined in the win over the Topeka Saints. In that second match of the day for Showtime, she racked up eight serve receptions, two digs, and two kills. She finished with three receptions, five kills, and one block against Pohaku. I would like to see her add some upper body strength, but she plays with confidence and would add solid depth to a college program. I’d like to see her next prep season to see how her game continues to evolve.
