It was held in Kansas City, MO on February 17-19th. Three days of immensely competitive volleyball taking place with teams from all over the country. Let’s take a look at players who really turned my head with their play.
Lucky Fasavalu Lucky Fasavalu 5'8" | S Sierra Canyon | 2027 CA [2027] 5-8 Setter/Outside (HS: Lakewood/Club: Mizuno Long Beach/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Lucky is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings, but that is only because they have not been released yet. She plays volleyball for Lakewood High School and also plays club for the Mizuno Long Beach volleyball program. Since she has transferred to the California area from Texas, she has taken the volleyball world by storm. I got introduced to her as an eighth grader when she first attended one of our showcases at the Sunshine National Qualifier last season. I was blown away by her natural athleticism as an outside hitter. Now, her club team has transitioned her to a setter and she has not skipped a beat. It is very difficult for any player to transition to a new position. But setter is the hardest position to play, so this makes it even more awesome to see how she is doing it. Her hands are super soft and she her hands are a mirror image of each other at and after contact of the ball. Miss Fasavalu was dishing the rock like she has been doing it for many years during the matches I watched. I spoke with her about it after one of her matches and she remarked that she loved it for many reasons. Every coach in the country should be adding her name to their short list of players to watch as she will be ready for the next level in no time. Check her out and you will see exactly what I saw.
Marley Robinson Marley Robinson 5'8" | S Orange Lutheran | 2027 CA [2027] 5-8 Setter/Right Side (HS: Orange Lutheran/Club: Forza1 North/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Marley is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She plays volleyball for Orange Lutheran High School and also plays club for the Forza1 North volleyball program. Miss Robinson is a super athletic setter who is not afraid of anything. If anyone counts her out because she is a little smaller in height, they will soon regret it very fast. She is one of the most athletic setters in her grad class in the state of California. As a setter, she has impeccable mechanics that can be replicated over and over. This kind of attention to her form and technique is what tells me that she will be a force to be reckoned with for the foreseeable future. What makes her even more special is she can rise up with the best of them as a blocker and attacker also. The fast-twitch muscles in her lower body help her to quickly propel to any position to play the ball and to also get up off of the ground in a hurry. This young lady has immense Power in her compact frame and she unleashes it during her arm swing when attacking the ball. We will be watching her progress very closely as we think she is a superb athlete that will be able to play at the collegiate level in a few years.
Sasha Cromer Sasha Cromer 5'11" | S Blue Valley West | 2027 State KS [2027] 5-11 Setter (HS: Blue Valley West/Club: KC Power /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Sasha is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings, but she is on our official Watch List. She plays volleyball for Blue Valley West High School and also plays club for the KC Power volleyball program. Miss Cromer is an astounding setter who has the frame that all colleges are looking for. I watched her team perform greatly at the tournament and she definitely turned my head with her play. The solid footwork that she shows on the court is amazing. You can see it in action as she sets the block on the right side for her middles to close with. It truly shows when she is tracking down a pass and loading up for a jump set to her wonderful attackers. I absolutely love how she stays on the balls of her feet while moving to every spot on the court. This will keep her fast and bouncy. You very rarely see her heels hit the floor, which is awesome at this young age. She is definitely already at a level that tells me she will be ready for the big time very soon. If I were you, I would put this name on a short list of setters for your future roster. Miss Cromer is a stud that you do not want to miss out on.
