Eva is a standout libero in the making for the class of 2027. Already displaying clean and disciplined form, she provides excellent support to her setter. She is currently ranked in the top 40 in Nevada’s 5A Northern league while playing defensive specialist. With the graduation of her school team’s libero and another DS, Eva has a great chance at becoming the libero. This will allow her to showcase the skills she’s been refining during club play and tally up even more digs. I’ll be closely monitoring this freshman during the Fall season.

Baer had an outstanding season on varsity, ranking 15th in Nevada for digs and currently holding the 2nd spot in the class of 2027. The freshman has pretty much mastered the split step on serve receive, enhancing her ability to move swiftly and pass effectively. Kelsea’s passing platform is textbook during serve receives, and she is consistently hustling on the court to maintain rallies for both her school and club teams. The elite libero can cover an extensive amount of court space simultaneously and exhibits excellent skill in anticipating her opponents’ attackers. Baer has proven herself to be one of the state’s top liberos and given her skill set, there’s a strong likelihood she’ll achieve even more impressive stats and ranking next Fall.

Sophia Yuzon
Sophia’s performance this club season has been nothing short of exceptional, truly standing out as a force on the court and a key player for her team’s impressive finishes in qualifiers. Her exceptional reading skills, coupled with her constant movement and impeccable court awareness, make her an ideal elite libero. The trend of liberos serving is growing, and Yuzon has developed an impressive jump float serve, earning numerous aces. Despite being a freshman, Sophia displays all the qualities of becoming a top libero. As she continues to hone her skills and gain experience, I have no doubt that Sophia will emerge as one of the standout liberos in the state. I look forward to catching her sophomore season this Fall.
