Here are some teams and players who definitely are turning heads due to their play. This series will highlight some players who we have seen in person and that we are adding to our list to watch this season.
Mizuno Long Beach 15 Rockstar
I have seen these youngsters a few times due to some of them being at our Top 250 Showcase and at Triple Crown. They have a ton of weapons on their roster that I couldn’t keep my eyes off of. Right side Makenna Barnes Makenna Barnes 6'2" | OH Marymount | 2027 CA has a cannon for an arm and is a shut down blocker as well. I love how she unleashes that power on the ball with such downward force. Setter/Outside Lucky Fasavalu Lucky Fasavalu 5'8" | S Sierra Canyon | 2027 CA has been on our radar for a while since coming over from Texas this year. This young lady has stepped into a huge role for her squad and is working her tail off in the gym to make sure that she delivers in whatever capacity the coaching staff asks for. This is the kind of leadership that every coach would want in a player. Libero Cedra Saolotoga has been passing nails all season long in the back row. I love her she opens up her hips toward the ball and creates amazing angles with her platform. Outside hitter Hanna McGinest can absolutely fly on the pins as she rises up to attack. She has some seriously talented ball control on the defensive side also. She deserves a few looks by college scouts for sure. Middle Ifeoma Okeke Ifeoma Okeke 5'11" | MB Mayfair | 2026 CA must have been rasied with rabbits because this kid has serious hops to her game. She is very bouncy and can rip the ball well when she connects on it. The other outside that stood out to me with her overall play in both the front and back row was Mckennah Iamaleava. We will be keeping our eye on them as the season moves forward and you should also.
Forza1 North 17 One
We have covered this squad before and their entire team is loaded with studs. All star outside hitter Malynn Mitchell is still doing amazing things whenever she gets the ball. This season they have added some firepower and super athletic teammates that are competing very well. Pin Maya Banks Maya Banks 6'1" | RS Chino Hills | 2025 CA can fly high and lives above the net. Super quick and bouncy libero Carina Zaldivar has been all over the court digging and covering her hitters very well. Setter Brooke Hansen Brooke Hansen 6'0" | S Etiwanda | 2025 State #135 Nation CA really caught my eye with both her play and how she leads her teammates. I loved how well she was talking with her hitters to make sure they were on the same page with which routes they would be running out of serve receive. She has the lengthy frame that will do well at the next level. Keonahi’ilani Solaita Keonahi’ilani Solaita 5'10" | OH Oak Hills | 2025 State CA moved over to this squad this season and has been rock solid as a six-rotation player. Middle Brooklynne Traficante Brooklynne Traficante 6'3" | MB Glendora | 2025 CA was scary good on tight balls at the net. I saw her play with lots of aggressiveness and poise during crunch time. That combination is what every coach would want in a tough middle. This team will definitely continue to make some noise and should be in the running for a bid to nationals again.
