Normally, these are well-rounded, athletic individuals that are the equivalent of “five tool” studs you would find on a diamond. Here are four six-rotation primary-passing outsides that are worth the recruiting time from four different clubs around Indiana from the class of 2025.
Keira Lucas Keira Lucas 5'10" | OH Northview | 2025 State IN , 5-10 OH, Northview, Circle City
If there ever was a workhorse attacker to be found on the recruiting trail, Keira is that recruit. I have personally seen her take over matches during the high school postseason AND be the go-to in an open-level club tournament recently. She’s athletic, smart, calm in serve receive and can defend at an above average level. For those on the east coast, you’ll see her live in Baltimore, as her club team (18 Purple) has already qualified for GJNC 18s in April.
Delaney Steers Delaney Steers 5'9" | OH Brownsburg | 2025 State IN , 5-9 OH, Brownsburg, Academy
Compact and explosive, Delaney hits a heavy ball and uses her athleticism to be stronger and faster than similar six rotation outsides her size and age. She’s already accustomed to terminating through a fast offense, and is quick enough to make the pass-to-attack skill look easy. Realistically, some may look at her smaller stature and not consider her for next-level placement. I counter that with the unnecessary number of three-rotation slow behemoths that don’t play defense that riddle the collegiate volleyball landscape now. Delaney does everything those bigger kids can’t, and the list of her “can do’s” is LONG.
Sophia Barber Sophia Barber 6'0" | OH Northwood | 2025 State IN , 6-0 OH, NorthWood, Empowered
Getting training on both the hard court and the sand court, Sophia is a long and lean outside that is smart, athletic and smooth. She can attack and defend equally in both the front and back rows, and makes some parts of this game of ours look simple. I’d like to see a little more of her on the right pin as well, as her length is unique for her size, and ESPECIALLY for this list.
Skylar Kritzmire Skylar Kritzmire 5'10" | OH Roncalli | 2025 State IN , 5-10 OH, Roncalli, Team Indiana
I had the pleasure of watching this young lady put balls away at the Windy City 18s qualifier back in January, and she had a field day hammering away at bigger and slower blockers. She’s smart and skilled, and can work hard in transition to get to her max jump on every attack. I also like her ability to hit every angle available to her. She’s not a one-trick pony—on the contrary, she sees what the defense is giving her and takes it.
