Continue ReadingThere is only one of me, and roughly ten thousand players at any one time in the state of Indiana. From time to time, I’m going to miss a few, especially in the extremities of the state. Here are five players from four different clubs that have burst onto the scene with authority, with a couple already earning college commitments.
Addisen Gallentine Addisen Gallentine 6'1" | MB Castle | 2025 State IN , 6-1 MB, Castle, Evansville United, Dayton commit
It is easy to understand why some publications have her listed at 6-3, because she is so long and has a high attack touch. That being said, this Flyer commit is long, broad-shouldered, and can put balls away by going over her competition. She’s known nothing but winning in both high school and club, and has been trained by some of the best. She should be continuing that trend of winning when she gets to A-10 champ Dayton in the fall of 2025.
Brooke Herdes Brooke Herdes 5'10" | OH Evansville Mater Dei | 2025 State IN , 5-10 OH, Evansville Mater Dei, Evansville United, Evansville commit
Keeping her close to home, the Aces of the University of Evansville get a “Jane-of-all-trades” type of player. In her high school season, she amassed 200+ kills, digs and assists. To be a well-rounded, six-rotation volleyball player is key in the Missouri Valley conference, and her continued training should help her fit right in when she arrives on campus in 17 months.
Emma Watson Emma Watson 6'0" | MB Castle | 2025 State IN , 6-0 MB, Castle, Metro
Long and lean, Miss Watson takes long strides when defending from pin to pin and has length in her arms to defend and attack at a high level. I would like to see a little more strength in her upper body, but for now, she’s doing well playing open-level competition this spring. Her high attack touch looks natural, and she’s projecting out to be an M2 at the next level.
Cami Knight Cami Knight 5'9" | MB Eastern Hancock | 2025 State IN , 5-9 MB/RS, Eastern Hancock, Academy
From a non-traditional volleyball program at EH, Cami will probably move to the right pin sooner rather than later at the next level. For now, she’s a smart and athletic middle that makes up for her height by going 100% on every jump, transition, and defensive movement from pin to pin. I like that she always makes the smart choice instead of blindly swinging away at every set she gets, which is a trait that can’t be taught.
Olivia Kracium Olivia Kracium 6'1" | MB DeKalb | 2025 State IN , 6-1 MB, DeKalb, Empowered
Trained by the club director himself at Empowered, Olivia is a fast and athletic middle that can play either middle position at the next level. It’s hard to find tall OR fast middles in this class, and she has both traits to her game. Her length is her strength, and can defend from pin to pin with ease. Her transition from defense to offense is quick and decisive, and with her training at Empowered, she should be able to sprinkle in a little sand ball as well this spring.
