We’ve been rolling through player features in the wake of our latest Nebraska 2026 rankings update. Yesterday’s article spotlighted outside attackers who climbed in the rankings after early 2024 success. Now, let’s discuss the pin hitters entering the rankings for the first time.
Our Class of 2026 database keeps growing, and we’re excited to have this stacked group of attackers joining the mix.
Uhrmacher is one of the most versatile new additions to Nebraska’s 2026 rankings. We saw her attacking prowess firsthand when she competed with Aurora High School at last year’s Harvest Festival Invite. However, Uhrmacher has frequently donned the libero jersey for Nebraska Juniors 16 Black in early 2024. This wouldn’t be the first time an Aurora athlete has thrived as a backcourt defender in the Nebraska Juniors gym.
Elsasser is finding a new gear with a Premier Nebraska 16 Black. Her quick arm has become a major scoring catalyst for a team that was already loaded with frontcourt talent. 16 Black leans on Elsasser to score on out-of-system balls, and her length makes her a great choice to get the job done. Look out for this emerging outside hitter on the qualifier trail.
Highlights
Get ready for some small-town representation. South Central NE has serious depth at the 16s level, so we’re adding several players from its 16 Red team. Brown joins the list as one of 16 Red’s major scoring options on the left side. She’s looking forward to a prep breakthrough with Adams Central this fall, too.
Another one for the South Central NE count. Patzel earned plenty of high-level reps as a prep starter for Boone Central last fall. Her fascinating role as a frontcourt left-side hitter and a backcourt setter helped her stand out with the Cardinals. Now, Patzel’s adaptability is giving a boost to South Central NE 16 Red on the club side.
VCNebraska 16 Black has been a frequent conversation topic lately. We still had talented players to add from this team, and Schroer certainly falls in that category. 16 Black wields this multi-talented player in a variety of ways. Schroer can take on major attacking duties on the right side to boost the team’s offense. Even if she’s not in the frontcourt, Schroer can also lock down the right-back area as a DS. We’ll see which niche prevails in the coming weeks.
16 Black has a ton of depth at opposite. Weeks joins Scherer at this position while offering the same versatility we just discussed. One of the difference-makers for Weeks is her lethal serve that can key up long serving runs at any time. This evolving skills has kept Weeks in the equation no matter which lineup 16 Black chooses to deploy.
Time to pivot to Nebraska ONE . Blomstedt fits the mold of so many other successful outside hitters we’ve seen with this club. She’s a savvy left-side attacker with 16 Lime whose roll shots and high-flat swings score at a great rate. Of course, Blomstedt will also bring the six-rotation skills we’d expect at Nebraska ONE . Keep this attacker in for all six rotations and let her influence every single point.
Outside hitter or defensive specialist? Schlegelmilch gives you both. The Lincoln East prep athlete has been an indispensable part of Nebraska ONE 16 Lime’s lineup in early-season action. Her presence in the middle-back area has elevated the team’s floor defense to new heights. Schlegelmilch can also slot into the front row and join the team’s loaded group of outside hitters. Expect a wealth of lineup permutations as 16 Lime searches for the right formula.
Highlights
Wiles is the quintessential ‘L1’ in Nebraska ONE 16 Lime’s lineup. She has the power and range to terminate when everyone knows she’s getting the ball. Well-formed blocks are no problem for Wiles, who is incredibly efficient at working off outside hands and finding seams. Lob the ball up to the left pin and let Wiles go to work.
Nebraska Elite has some new additions, too. Mattox is a lefty opposite who provides a reliable spark for Nebraska Elite 16-3’s offense. Her quick transition footwork ensures that the team always has a worthy option behind the setter. Better yet, Mattox can run routes inside the pin to give opposing blockers even more to think about.
Perrotto joins Mattox on the right pin and makes Nebraska Elite 16-3’s opposites trickier to defend. While Mattox scores with her left hand, Perrotto offers a change of pace and slugs crosscourt swings with the right. She can also play tremendous off-blocker defense and pick up any short tips along the net. It’s the perfect 1-2 punch for a two-setter offense.
We’ll wrap up with an important entry from Nebraska Juniors. Classen is a go-to hitter on the left side who can also display her strong arm on the right. This makes her the ideal ‘L1’ who will not waver in any rotation. 16 Red is happy to have this long, athletic hitter who is quickly finding her form in the 2024 club season.
