Continue ReadingWe were super excited to run our Sunshine Classic Showcase in conjunction with the Sunshine Classic National Qualifier in Orlando, FL on March 1st and March 7th. It was held at the Winter Park Volleyball Club and was live streamed via BallerTV. This article series will discuss some of the players that turned the heads of the court coaches and scouts that were in attendance. Let’s see who earned the Top Performer award from the showcase.
Jaiden Harris Jaiden Harris 5'11" | OH Liberty | 2026 TX [2026] 5-11 Outside (HS: Liberty/Club: Arete/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Jaiden is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but will be added to the official Watch List in the upcoming weeks when I update the rankings. She plays volleyball for Liberty High School and also plays club for the Arete volleyball program. I couldn’t contain my excitement when I saw that she was registered for the showcase because I have been watching her team compete this season and she has my attention based on what I have seen from her so far. Miss Harris is a very powerful attacker who can do a lot of things on the court for any team she is on. She is fully capable of dominating on both pins at the net and has a solid back row game as well. Not many young ladies can throttle the ball with raw natural power like Jaiden does. When she connects on the ball well, the entire gym can hear it. When I say that there is nothing she cannot do on a volleyball court, trust me…she can do it all. I have seen her hit a high tempo left side shot for power and finesse. If you put her on the right side, she can either let the ball cross over her shoulder to hit down the line with power or thread the needle of the seam of the block for a solid cross court attack. I delighted in watching her footwork as I guarantee she can hit the right side slide also if need be. If you need her to come around for a second tempo set out of the middle, her shuffle footwork is on point and she hits around the block with power. As the Prep Dig Scouting Director of Texas, I will have my eyes on her very closely from now on. Please help us congratulate her on earning the Top Performer award at the showcase.
Isabella Umpierre Isabella Umpierre 5'10" | RS Lake Highland Prep | 2026 FL [2026] 5-10 Outside (HS: Lake Highland/Club: Winter Park/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Isa is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Florida State Rankings, but that is only because they have not been released yet. She plays volleyball for Lake Highland High School and also plays club for the Winter Park volleyball program. Miss Umpierre stole the show numerous times at the showcase due to her amazing natural athleticism and confidence to demonstrate during our drills. Isa literally killed it during the two-hour showcase as every coach nominated her for a Top Performer award. Although she is not a middle, when her team needed someone to step in, she was willing and eager to help out which told me a lot about her character as a player. Someone willing to do anything for the betterment of the team is someone who will earn the attention and respect of college coaches and scouts. As for her skills, I loved watching her picturesque footwork and approach to attack the ball. The talented lefty has an absolute cannon for an arm and unloads it on every attempt. Do not think she is a one-trick pony as she can excel in the back row playing defense also. If I were her coach, I would not take her out of any match and utilize all of her skills on the court to help my team win. She was a total joy to watch and if you give her some attention, I guarantee you will see a player who can help out a college roster in a few years. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
Eva Goodson Eva Goodson 5'9" | S FSUS | 2026 FL [2026] 5-9 Setter (HS: Florida State University High/Club: TVA/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Eva is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Florida State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released them yet. She plays at Florida State University High School and also club for the Tallahassee Volleyball Academy program. This young lady is super talented as a setter. The ball flies out of her hands so fast to her hitters and she puts the ball on a perfect tee for them to attack. I love watching her use athleticism to push the ball to the pins during out of system sets. The best is when she is on the left side of the court and has to go against the flow of the pass to deliver a beautiful right side set behind her more than twenty feet away. That ball rockets toward the right side to and creates such a wonderful one on one attack situation for her opposite hitter. The best part of her game is when she steps in to attack in the front row. When you look at her, at first, you might only see a setter, but when she takes off for an approach you see a hungry lioness who is ready to pounce on her prey. Miss Goodson is so fast off of the court that if you blink, you will miss her. If you are wanting an explosive setter for your program who can change the dynamic of your offense, I suggest you look no further than Eva. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
