Continue ReadingWe were super excited to run our Sunshine Classic Showcase in conjunction with the Sunshine Classic National Qualifier in Orlando, FL on March 1st and March 7th. It was held at the Winter Park Volleyball Club and was live streamed via BallerTV. This article series will discuss some of the players that turned the heads of the court coaches and scouts that were in attendance. Let’s see who earned the Top Performer award from the showcase.
Elle Mottola Elle Mottola 5'11" | S Boone | 2026 FL [2026] 5-11 Setter (HS: Boone/Club: Winter Park/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Elle is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Florida State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released them yet. She plays volleyball for Boone High School and also plays club for the Winter Park volleyball program. Miss Mottola showed her skills to the entire audience as she volunteered for one of our drills that we demonstrated to everyone. Not only was she pinpoint accurate as a setter, but she stole the show as everyone “ooh’d and ahh’d” at her athleticism. When she jumped for a tight ball and did a one-handed set to the right side which led to an awesome kill, the entire gym let out a huge roar of excitement. Elle did this over and over while she was in attendance of the showcase and it definitely helped make a name for herself. I was loving how she used some awesome court vision to always put herself in a great position to dig the opposing attack. While most setters release early from that, Elle stayed very disciplined and played defense until it was time to release to her setter position at the net. Elle deserves a lot of attention from college coaches from what I saw in person at the showcase. Please help us congratulate her on earning the Top Performer award at the showcase.
Gillian Wolf Gillian Wolf 5'11" | OH St. John XXIII | 2026 TX [2026] 5-11 Outside (HS: St. John XXIII/Club: Houston Juniors /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Gillian is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays volleyball for St. John XXIII High School and also plays club for the Houston Juniors volleyball program. Miss Wolf did a fantastic job of creating opportunities to score during the scrimmage portion of the showcase. I really liked how she used her long arms to propel herself even higher during her approach. Her line shot was on full display as she used it to score numerous times against the defense. After speaking to her court coach, it was very apparent that she has a lot to offer on the court. Her court coach said she showed supreme confidence and a willingness to be aggressive at all times. Gillian is one of those hitters who can score from both pins if need be and has great length in her extremities to be a shut down blocker on defense. I will be keeping my eye on her closely as the year progresses and you should also. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
Alayna Perales Alayna Perales 5'10" | OH Lewis Palmer Highschool | 2026 TX [2026] 5-10 Outside (HS: Lewis Palmer/Club: Elevation/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Alayna is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but that is only because we do not have a website in Colorado as of yet. She plays for Lewis Palmer High School and also club for the Elevation volleyball program. I have seen Alayna play volleyball for a few years now and she amazes me how much she has grown and progressed in the sport. Her right arm is lethal when she connects on the ball. Miss Perales’s downward arm speed is something to marvel at and she has the ability to get even stronger as she gets older. As a hitter, her hand contact on the ball is top notch and she uses it to move the ball to any location she wants to. I love her line shot as she used it during the scrimmage portion of the showcase a few times. She will be moving to the central Texas area soon and we cannot wait to watch her more in person over the next few years. Give her a look and you will not be disappointed. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
