Top Performers Setters – Sunshine Classic Showcase Wk. 2

The players in this article were selected as the Top Performers Setters. At a first glance during the showcase was obvious that she has the overall skills to be highly recognized in the state. She has excellent ball control effectively placing the ball on target across the net. In addition to her setting abilities, she is a successful hitter with a high success rate of kills. I also watched her playing at the Sunshine Qualifiers and her performance was solid carrying over the same top-level performance. As I watched Allie during the drills, her sets are right on target with accurate high and speed depending on the tempo. Allie quickly releases the ball maintaining a successful connection with the hitters in the middle and pins. She showed adaptability as a setter as she was setting to unfamiliar players. At 5'10u0022 she knows how to use her height on the from row taking advantage of the second pass kills. She plays for Metro Volleyball Club 15's where she runs a 5/1. She came to the showcase ready to show her overall skills and she did it, the coaches immediately recognized her setting abilities as she connected with players from all levels. One of her attributes is the speed transitioning towards the ball and the smooth ball handling. Barret has the strength to set ball from pin to pin with several back set to the right side during the intense matched in the showcase. She has several attributes as a setter and overall player, the setting skills demonstrated a mature level of performance during the showcase. In addition, she has a solid defense on the backrow and a tough floating serve. Juliette is already familiar with the spotlight playing at a higher level on the 14U division with her club team earning the 1st Place and USAV Bid during the Sunshine Qualifiers. She is a pivotal player in her club team where she effectively runs a 5/1 offense. I had seen Nadia playing several times and she continues to improve her all around skills. Her setting platform and ball contact are ideal for different tempos, the back row defense and serving are another part of her skills. Alicia is a player I have been following during the season, on every occasion her performance is a validation of her overall skills. Phoenix's primary position is setting; however, her top-notch defensive skills make her a great addition to any team as a defense specialist. As I observed her during the setting drills was obvious that she has the potential, skills, strength, and personality to be among the best in her position. Phoenix ball release is fast, and the sets are accurately placed on target. She is a fun player to watch, I watched her playing at the Sunshine Qualifiers and she showed her skills assisting her team to finish in the top ten of their division.
