If you want an idea of how talented the Class of 2025 is, just look at the top middles on this list. Victoria Gray Victoria Gray 6'2" | MB Bedford | 2025 State #100 Nation MI , Olivia Grenadier Olivia Grenadier 6'1" | MB Country Day | 2025 State #91 Nation MI , Shelby Ignash Shelby Ignash 6'1" | MB Cass City | 2025 State #124 Nation MI and Jordyn Hughes Jordyn Hughes 6'0" | MB Portage North | 2025 State MI are all among the best in the nation and have each committed to major college programs. Gray has really emerged as one of the best middles in the country over the last 18 months. The 6’2” Bedford prospect has already committed to Indiana. She’s a dominant blocker and has the ability to power through any defenders she’s up against. Grenadier has been as consistent a player at the club level as you can find. The Country Day product has been up against all the best and come through on the winning end. She’s heading to Colorado in the fall of 2025. Ignash is an athletic middle that can quickly take over a match with her fast arm swing. The Cass City prospect is committed to Texas Tech. Hughes has really emerged as the breakout star in this group. She was dominant for Portage Northern this fall and with a lot of explosiveness at the net. She’s heading to UConn in 2025.
Beasts of the East
South Lyon East has had a wealth of hitting talent to work with in recent seasons, especially in the middle. In the Class of 2025, East features two of the top uncommitted middles thus far in Addison Williams Addison Williams 6'2" | MB South Lyon East | 2025 State MI and Lauren Johnson Lauren Johnson 6'2" | MB South Lyon East | 2025 State MI . Both stand 6’2” and have the ability to dominate a match with their hitting ability and their blocking skills. Williams has great instincts on the floor and has added dimensions to her offense in the last year. Johnson has a very violent swing, and she’s determined to not let any opposing blockers get in her way. Her intensity will be very valuable at the next level.
Dark horse middles
Though some of the middles didn’t work their way into the top 10 in these latest rankings, there are plenty that can still be difference-makers in the years ahead. Caledonia’s Josie Noble Josie Noble 6'2" | MB Caledonia | 2025 State MI is one of the more productive middles in the state. Her blocking ranks right up there with anyone, but she’s got a finishing rate that puts her in a top tier as well. This upcoming year is a big chance for her to show that she can be a college-level talent. Avery Powers Avery Powers 6'0" | MB Coopersville | 2025 State MI comes from a program that has produced middles that go on to succeed at the next level, in Coopersville. Powers looks to fit that bill. She’s long, athletic, and has developed a real nose for making a play. Kadie Tarasiewicz Kadie Tarasiewicz 6'0" | MB Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Preparatory | 2025 State MI has helped build a new program in Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, and the 6-foot middle has dialed up her aggressiveness and feel for the court in the last year. She’s going to get better and better going against top CHSL talents.
