Although today’s (and this series’) teams are a mixture of JVA and USAV teams, there are still plenty of kids to watch that are available for signing for the class of 2025. Here are those 25s playing in 18 Open in Baltimore starting next week.
Aside: Team Pineapple 18 Black also earned a bid to Baltimore with their finish at MEQ, but as of this writing, all players are committed or signed to play at the next level.
Circle City 18 Purple (Earned bid at Boston)
The majority of this roster has already committed and/or signed with their next home for volleyball. There are two athletes, however, that deserve another look for the fall of ’25. Keira Lucas Keira Lucas 5'10" | OH Northview | 2025 State IN (’25, 5-11 OH, Northview) is a big and physical six-rotation passer that can terminate from anywhere. She hits a heavy ball, plays faster than she looks and has athleticism to burn. Middle Reanna Lee Reanna Lee 5'11" | MB McCutcheon | 2025 State IN (’25, 6-0 MB, McCutcheon) is long and defends well from pin to pin, while her athleticism and high volleyball IQ allow her to score points for her squad no matter how consistent the setter is. She’s also unassuming—Reanna puts in the dirty work, defers accolades to those around her and is a dependable M2 for the next level.
Munciana 18 Samurai (Earned bid at MEQ)
By lapping the field in Indianapolis last month, the Samurai cemented themselves as the #1 team in this age group in Indiana. There is so much talent on this 14-member roster that it’s hard to keep up as to just how many Power Five kids play on a day-in, day-out basis. There are three, however, that have yet to find a home, and should with next week’s showing. Lilly Howell Lilly Howell 6'2" | MB Muncie Burris | 2025 State IN (’25, 6-2 Pin/MB, Burris) already has a state title on her mantle, and added “pin attacker” to her list of can-do’s in her ability list. She’s a middle for her 2A high school squad, but her roster designation on Munciana’s website says OH. Coach Lingenfelter is definitely the guy you want training you for a position switch, or in Lilly’s case, more ways to be recruited. Josie Myers Josie Myers 6'2" | MB Cathedral | 2025 State IN (’25, 6-3 MB, Cathedral) has size and length for days, and can close a block quickly with her long strides from pin to pin. She also has an attack touch north of ten feet, and looks every bit the part of being an M2 for a large Division I school. Cienna Lapsley Cienna Lapsley 6'1" | MB Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran | 2025 State IN (’25, 6-0 MB, Concordia Lutheran) has speed to burn, and uses her quick transition to beat most opposing blocks. Her springy and quick nature makes her a shoo-in for any mid-major looking for a fast and athletic middle that can play either middle position with ease.
