As a springy middle on the Samurai, Cienna is a high-flying and athletic middle that can play either middle position. She excels at M2 transition, and puts away nearly every ball she gets in transition simply because she’s faster than her opponents, especially in front of the setter. Long and lean, her defense is more than adequate for the 18 Open level of play, and she should be able to translate that level over to college.

As quick-twitch as they come on this list, Cienna will be on the Samurai for the second-straight club season, getting the best of the best training there is to offer. Cienna gets up quickly, is exceptional off of two feet, and has a strong whip of a shoulder to power through blocks regularly. She’s listed in two positions because she can—her right side swing is pretty identical to her middle swing in that it’s high and deep and indefensible. It’s surprising to me that Miss Lapsley is still available, but here we are, talking about a hyper athletic kid that’s more than ready to play at the next level.
